Bergen County real estate won’t be the same

Bob Aman was a teacher to many, and for a very fortunate few, someone we could call a mentor. Bob, you’ll be truly missed.

Robert “Bob” Santry, Sr., 87, of Ho-Ho-Kus, passed away Sunday, August 9th. Beloved husband of 61 years to Maryanne (nee Neil). Loving father of Rosemary “Roz” Kenny and husband Steven, Robert Santry Aman, Jr. and wife Julianne and Thomas Aman. Cherished grandfather of Ashley Nickl (Chris), Marielle Kenny, Holly, Peter (Hannah), Josh, Elizabeth and Caleb Aman and Oliver, Bridget and Tess Aman. Devoted great-grandfather of Elizabeth Kenny. Caring brother of John Aman, Marilyn Little and the late William Aman. Born and raised in Congress Lake, OH, Bob graduated from Mt. Union University in Alliance, OH. He served as an Officer in the US Air Force and Air Force Reserve and continued his education at Baylor University in Texas and University of Michigan. Bob worked in automobile manufacturing for both Chrysler Corp. and Ford for many years. He was then an instructor, auctioneer and real estate broker, owning two firms in Ridgewood, D.R.I. Real Estate Company and Discount Realty, Inc. A dedicated daily Mass parishioner of St. Luke’s R.C. Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, Bob passionately taught real estate and truly enjoyed spending time with his family.

Very interesting real estate porn piece in Real Deal, not because of the Syrian aspect, but because of the history of some of these families. Jordache, Nobody Beats the Wiz, Ashley Stewart, Cayre brothers at GoodTimes Entertainment (I worked with these guys years ago, floored to see their stacks of VCRs doing duplication in Bayonne).

    Dominating Deal

Mapping out just how many properties NYC’s Syrian Jewish real estate moguls own in this Jersey Shore hamlet

Slick, but morally wrong. Your behavior is the “trademark” of why all economic systems fall apart; people that think they are slick, and that must get over on the system. You are no different than the corporations that take advantage of the system or from the individuals that take advantage of the system. Don’t complain about taxes, welfare, or some govt worker taking advantage of the system, you do the exact same thing……taking advantage of the situation because you have no morals for the greater good.

Every Summer I buy a brand new mac and return it 14 days later as my travel machine. Last year it was a retina iMac, this year a Macbook pro. The Macbook Pro I’m typing on right now is a splendid machine, but a bit heavy, despite it’s slimness. I’m thinking that the Macbook Air is more utilitarian. At home I use mac minis/servers with Dell monitors.

Start in Asbury and drive north. Amazing the sheer size of the real estate of those homes. Massive ocean front lots. Even more imoressive from the ocean. Fish up that way on occassion.

Couple of the rabbis in that town got swept up in the selling kidneys thing a few years ago too.

The properties are not owned by the same family, the names in the article are the Smiths and Jones’ of the SY community. The Jemal’s house in Allenhurst is in foreclosure as is a handful of other homes owned by Syrians. Oh the stories I could tell about this community.

Juice- Howell. Im kind of in a corner where Wall, Howell and Brick all come together. Ramtown. I can use exit 91 or 98.

Taxes down here are low compared to NNJ. $300k gets you 2000 sq ft, maybe 1/3 acre. Taxes 7k.

Brother in law just bought in Wall between whatever 16th ave turns into on the other side of 35 and 138. $6ooK, maybe 3K sq ft, taxes about $11k I think.

Probably not reasonable for NYC commute although I see a lot of people getting on the bus to do it everyday.

Speaking of our orthodox neighbors, this site focuses on their trangressions. We are all human at the end of the day, folks like Dweck and some much worse are the focus of their stories. Not to say there aren’t people like this in every subculture.
