From the AP:

Biden defeats Trump for White House, says ‘time to heal’

Democrat Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States on Saturday, positioning himself to lead a nation gripped by a historic pandemic and a confluence of economic and social turmoil.

His victory came after more than three days of uncertainty as election officials sorted through a surge of mail-in votes that delayed processing. Biden crossed the winning threshold of 270 Electoral College votes with a win in Pennsylvania.

Trump refused to concede, threatening further legal action on ballot counting.

Biden, 77, staked his candidacy less on any distinctive political ideology than on galvanizing a broad coalition of voters around the notion that Trump posed an existential threat to American democracy. The strategy proved effective, resulting in pivotal victories in Michigan and Wisconsin as well as Pennsylvania, onetime Democratic bastions that had flipped to Trump in 2016.

Biden’s victory was a repudiation of Trump’s divisive leadership and the president-elect now inherits a deeply polarized nation grappling with foundational questions of racial justice and economic fairness while in the grips of a virus that has killed more than 236,000 Americans and reshaped the norms of everyday life.

Biden, in a statement, declared it was time for the battered nation “to unite and to heal.”

“With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation,” he said. “There’s nothing we can’t do if we do it together.”

Trump had more votes than Obama in 2008. He increased his votes since last election by over 10%…getting 7 million more votes than in 2016 and loses? Now that’s crazy. If you told me Trump increases his votes by 10% from last election, I would put the odds of him losing at almost zero percent. Somehow Biden comes through with 75 million votes…now explain that

  6. Bystander says:

I explain it by describing you as a dufus who does not get that people came out in droves to exterminate the Orange cockroach.

So many mail-in ballot (no excuse) were requested, issued and the period to vote got extended in many places. Just CA and NY/NJ make such a change. Also so many unemployed, at-home college students, service sector workers voted who otherwise wouldn’t find time to vote in person on a regular Tuesday work day. Some folks who had to wait hours were able to vote this time in GA.

I think this should remain in the future. Tuesday is my busiest meeting day and it is really hard to find time to drive to see the folks there and get in line.

I hope you trumpers are happy. All he had to do to get re-elected was keep his obnoxious comments to himself. But no, he had to mock McCain and he lost Arizona . Instead of pretending to be thankful a kidnapping plot against a governor was busted by the FBI he complained the governor was ungrateful for not personally thanking him and he lost Michigan. He could have encouraged people to wear masks and pretend to show compassion for the families that lost people to covid. He blew it like the Giants blow a two score lead in the final 5 Minutes of a game. He was such an emotional disaster we now have Biden.

Next up Alabama and Louisiana. The days of suppressing the vote are ending. Mail in works and opens the voting booth to many who couldn’t get there before. Its going to be interesting to see what comes out of the USPS investigations outside of a pardon for DeJoy.

The Manhattan commercial market is cooked (again if competent, he would have been in a better place) and no one is going to refinance his loans as the “Trump” name for the foreseeable future is on par with “Titanic”. I expect fire sale of all his properties. If he’s smart he would take over dying Rush Limbaugh radio empire and build on that for the few years he has left – sort of Ed Koch as he dribble away on his radio shows on Bloomberg.

His kids are toxic like the Madoff kids, so either they’ll meet the same end or find so niche somewhere. The country might be divided, but I still posit the reality that the anger is Boomer Locust driven, just like they made a mess in the 60’s. The one good thing is that 6 months before dementia strikes people start getting angry with no reason. There is a good possibility of massive batch of boomers being out of their minds dementia in a year plus, refilling all those empty nursing homes bed.

democrats – the party of scratch-offs

  27. EddieNeeds Sedation says:

These are tidbits from the NY Times from an interview with AOC. It shows very clear the wayward thinking of the boomers geezer democratic leadership and anyone else that is younger and is exasperated by their incompetence and their refusal to get out the way as they continue making a mess.

And I’ve looked through a lot of these campaigns that lost, and the fact of the matter is if you’re not spending $200,000 on Facebook with fund-raising, persuasion, volunteer recruitment, get-out-the-vote the week before the election, you are not firing on all cylinders. And not a single one of these campaigns were firing on all cylinders.

Well, Conor Lamb did win. So what are you saying: Investment in digital advertising and canvassing are a greater reason moderate Democrats lost than any progressive policy?

These folks are pointing toward Republican messaging that they feel killed them, right? But why were you so vulnerable to that attack?

If you’re not door-knocking, if you’re not on the internet, if your main points of reliance are TV and mail, then you’re not running a campaign on all cylinders. I just don’t see how anyone could be making ideological claims when they didn’t run a full-fledged campaign.

Our party isn’t even online, not in a real way that exhibits competence. And so, yeah, they were vulnerable to these messages, because they weren’t even on the mediums where these messages were most potent. Sure, you can point to the message, but they were also sitting ducks. They were sitting ducks.

There’s a reason Barack Obama built an entire national campaign apparatus outside of the Democratic National Committee. And there’s a reason that when he didn’t activate or continue that, we lost House majorities. Because the party — in and of itself — does not have the core competencies, and no amount of money is going to fix that.

If I lost my election, and I went out and I said: “This is moderates’ fault. This is because you didn’t let us have a floor vote on Medicare for all.” And they opened the hood on my campaign, and they found that I only spent $5,000 on TV ads the week before the election? They would laugh. And that’s what they look like right now trying to blame the Movement for Black Lives for their loss.

Is there anything from Tuesday that surprised you? Or made you rethink your previously held views?

The share of white support for Trump. I thought the polling was off, but just seeing it, there was that feeling of realizing what work we have to do.

We need to do a lot of anti-racist, deep canvassing in this country. Because if we keep losing white shares and just allowing Facebook to radicalize more and more elements of white voters and the white electorate, there’s no amount of people of color and young people that you can turn out to offset that.

But the problem is that right now, I think a lot of Dem strategy is to avoid actually working through this. Just trying to avoid poking the bear. That’s their argument with defunding police, right? To not agitate racial resentment. I don’t think that is sustainable.

There’s a lot of magical thinking in Washington, that this is just about special people that kind of come down from on high. Year after year, we decline the idea that they did work and ran sophisticated operations in favor of the idea that they are magical, special people. I need people to take these goggles off and realize how we can do things better.

If you are the D.C.C.C., and you’re hemorrhaging incumbent candidates to progressive insurgents, you would think that you may want to use some of those firms. But instead, we banned them. So the D.C.C.C. banned every single firm that is the best in the country at digital organizing.

Biden’s transition team launches its official website and social media accounts.
Visitors flock to Susan B. Anthony’s grave to mark a moment for women.
Biden is poised to roll back Trump’s policies with a blitz of executive actions.
The leadership and elements of the party — frankly, people in some of the most important decision-making positions in the party — are becoming so blinded to this anti-activist sentiment that they are blinding themselves to the very assets that they offer.

I’ve been begging the party to let me help them for two years. That’s also the damn thing of it. I’ve been trying to help. Before the election, I offered to help every single swing district Democrat with their operation. And every single one of them, but five, refused my help. And all five of the vulnerable or swing district people that I helped secured victory or are on a path to secure victory. And every single one that rejected my help is losing. And now they’re blaming us for their loss.

So I need my colleagues to understand that we are not the enemy. And that their base is not the enemy. That the Movement for Black Lives is not the enemy, that Medicare for all is not the enemy. This isn’t even just about winning an argument. It’s that if they keep going after the wrong thing, I mean, they’re just setting up their own obsolescence.

What is your expectation as to how open the Biden administration will be to the left? And what is the strategy in terms of moving it?

I don’t know how open they’ll be. And it’s not a personal thing. It’s just, the history of the party tends to be that we get really excited about the grass roots to get elected. And then those communities are promptly abandoned right after an election.

I think the transition period is going to indicate whether the administration is taking a more open and collaborative approach, or whether they’re taking a kind of icing-out approach. Because Obama’s transition set a trajectory for 2010 and some of our House losses. It was a lot of those transition decisions — and who was put in positions of leadership — that really informed, unsurprisingly, the strategy of governance.

What if the administration is hostile? If they take the John Kasich view of who Joe Biden should be? What do you do?

Well, I’d be bummed, because we’re going to lose. And that’s just what it is. These transition appointments, they send a signal. They tell a story of who the administration credits with this victory. And so it’s going be really hard after immigrant youth activists helped potentially deliver Arizona and Nevada. It’s going to be really hard after Detroit and Rashida Tlaib ran up the numbers in her district.

It’s really hard for us to turn out nonvoters when they feel like nothing changes for them. When they feel like people don’t see them, or even acknowledge their turnout.

If the party believes after 94 percent of Detroit went to Biden, after Black organizers just doubled and tripled turnout down in Georgia, after so many people organized Philadelphia, the signal from the Democratic Party is the John Kasichs won us this election? I mean, I can’t even describe how dangerous that is.

  28. 30 year realtor says:

November 3rd has passed. Biden has won the election. In the next week about 1 million Americans will test positive for COVID-19 and 7000 will die. So much for COVID-19 magically disappearing after the election.

The Biden will be a Uniter mantra is mind boggling.

Assuming he doesn’t die before Inauguration Day, He has to unite his party first. He’s an empty vessel the progressive used to appeal to moderates, but those two sides are very different. The marxists and the anarchists are not going to stop until they control every lever of power, and the lobbyist run establishment isn’t going to hurry to hand them over.

If that gets settled, the notion that the right will unite behind him is a joke. The list of grievances is so long, the dossier coup attempt, fraudulent election, propaganda and tech manipulation, the middle is lost for the foreseeable future.

The thing that will magically disappear is certainly not Covid. But, what will magically change once Biden is in, is the way CNN, MSNBC, and NYT cover Covid. Less time devoted to it. More fatalism about it. More soft encouragement to wear a mask and social distance while getting back to normal.

The ominous tones, in speech and in print, and the wall-to-wall coverage by these outlets will not continue much past Jan. 21. in my opinion. Also, FDA approval of, and the subsequent rollout of, a vaccine will be covered very differently with a President Biden than a President Trump, by these outlets.

#1 full disclosure – I did not vote for Trump.

#2 why are leaked tax returns published (cherry picked & stripped of contextual information) in the NY Times reasonable, but Hunter Biden’s laptop is not?

#3 we have already discussed the distinction to be drawn between economic profits and taxable income on a return.

#4 if you are unaware of what the following means in light of #3, then you should refrain from referencing it.
“Finally, the NY Times expose on his finances, showed he loses money on everything except Trump Tower, Trump World, A 30$ stake in a Vornado partnership, and profits from his father Queens Apartments that are split with other members of family

Probably the most simple explanation for the quote is that all the above assets are long-held (i.e. fully depreciated) or in something that he owns a minority ownership so there is no independent control.

#5 If it is not clear that the Trump brand has immense value and the entire family can enrich themselves, then you are simply not paying attention. If you ever discuss business with a brand manager, marketer, or development person and give them the cliché “I don’t get it”, they always give you the smug response “You wouldn’t get it because you aren’t the target market.”

#6 Madoff is a pariah to all and his family is shunned. There is no residual business.
Trump owns real estate, but his biggest cash revenue generator is the asset light business of placing his TRUMP name on things and charging for the privilege.

#7 It’s as simple as if Trump stays out of jail, then 2016-2020 has been very good for him.

They were doing mailers like it’s 1998. And because of that they couldn’t counter the impact of the riots and defund the police movements.

  55. Chi NeedsEddies Sedation says:

    Chi,

You call AOC’s hubris, I call it she showed results. The progressive side got the votes out. The turn out of blacks in the south only happened because of the progressives’ push, it did not occur by itself or commanded the third way corporatocrats. Look at the democrats congresscritters who lost and all are moderates, which means no difference between them and a republican except the Trump/Pence sign in the background.

Your explanation on taxes, is your excuse for his tax cheating ways, nothing more. Same goes for your branding expertise. Sure try to get some big corporation that is not a Koch Bros subsidiary to book a conference in any place with the Trump name.

Competence excuse some corruption most of the time. Go to Cliffside Park NJ, a subsidiary of the Calabrese Family. Or to North Bergen NJ, a fiefdom of Lord Nick Sacco. Both are somewhat crooked in their own ways, they stay because they are competent. Garbage picked up, snow removed, schools do their jobs, etc.

Trumps incompetence ensure his failure vis a vis the economic effects of the pandemic on Manhattan real estate where he makes his only profits, which now he does not. No bank is going to refinance his loans in non loan shark rates. He’s toast in real estate, same goes for the Kushners – look up the Baltimore Sun on what they have been doing in Maryland.

Restock your pantry and household goods. I suspect we will be at 1 million cases a week around thanksgiving and the hospitals will get overrun nationwide. We had over 120,000 new cases yesterday. And if people gather over thanksgiving the whole country could look like nyc in April. My area is setting new daily records. Over 1% of El Paso has tested positive in the last week. That would be like over 3 million people nationwide tested positive in a week. Would be a disaster if that were to happen.

Mask are not magic, and they definitely don’t work to a large degree. The very little effectiveness they do have can tilt the stats in your direction like it did over the summer, turning a 1.03 Rate of Transmission to a .95. But when we are hovering around 1.14, it’s negative effect diminishes. It’s worth it to slow the virus, but, at some point, looking at cases worldwide now that most of the US and Europe is in the midst of flu season, they just aren’t the magic bullet that people believe they were. The UV light and heat of summer were the primary factors in reducing transmission.

This is the genius that is Murphy, opening up indoor dining on the very last day of summer. He even brought Fauci on 6 weeks ago to obtain his blessing.

#5 The brand is now toxic and has been for a few years. Buildings have been suing to remove the name. The only interest is on the back of deals like Azerbaijan
#6 The entire family (minus Melania) will decamp for Saudi Arabia. The revenue Donnie drove to his properties will dry up. Who is going to want to buy favor staying at TrumpDC. Doral and Turnberry were already losing money. Donnies loans are coming due. Are DB and co rolling them over. Who’s stepping up to buy them. You need to remember, that Donnie bought these properties as distressed and poured a lot of money into them. They were distressed for a reason. But you are the bond maven, what rating are you giving Donnies debt?
#7 The bigger issue for Donnie, is not his taxes on Jan 21, but all the unsealed indictments that stem from the Mueller report. His kids and Rudy will get scooped up for processing.
In the end, it was a 4 year grift and use and abuse of power (and not just the White Type). Donnie needs to be prosecuted, if only to deter the next one up. If this administration gets to walk, it sends the message that its ok to abuse the office. Thats when the country is in real trouble.

In a slew of tweets (right) sent around midnight Washington time – two of them flagged by Twitter for containing disputed information – the President pushed videos of his allies on Fox News alleging voter fraud and other irregularities, while calling for all claims to be fully investigated before the election result is allowed to stand. It comes amid reports that Trump (pictured main image yesterday) is planning a series of rallies where he will show off obituaries of dead people that his campaign claims were allowed to vote, while touting other allegations of fraud. The Trump campaign is also said to be putting together ‘a campaign-style media operation’ to challenge the result, while building up staff numbers in states where legal challenges and recounts are likely to go ahead. It comes despite some Republicans urging him to accept defeat including former President George W. Bush who issued a message telling him the election’s outcome was ‘clear’ and Chris Christie who said it was time for him to show evidence or ‘move on.’

    hold my beer . . .

it is cherry-picking looking to the Asian countries and Oceania.

I believe the large Western European nations are the best comparison for how the US is doing. Many of these countries are performing worse than the US, per capita. The 7-day average new cases confirmed currently stand at the following:

France: 53k/day (which would be equivalent to about 250k/day in the US)
Italy: 32k (eq. to 150k/day in the US)
Spain: 17k (eq. to 130k/day in the US)
UK: 22k (eq. to 110k/day in the US)
Germany: 18k (eq. to 75k/ day in the US)

The US 7-day average of new cases is 111k/day. So, better than France, Italy and Spain, on a per-capita basis. About same as UK. Worse than Germany.

I disagree that the US public could have been cajoled into the behavior necessary to “Stamp out” this virus. The best we could have done is to have messaged social distancing better and then gotten the hospitals better prepared to deal with the sick by some targeted 2 week lockdowns when cases started running up in a given area.

Immigration is important. A Turkish immigrant is allowed to enter Germany and as a result, the son of the immigrant invents the COVID 19 vaccine. In a world that is becoming more complex and technologically advanced, having a populace with signifiant horsepower between the ears matters. So the natural question to ask is, do I live in a country that attracts people with significant horsepower between the ears and if not, what can be done about it? 6+ decades ago, San Diego wanted to become a world class science hub but certain people were not allowed to live there. It was pointed out to TPTB in San Diego that without the said “undesirable” group, there was no chance for San Diego to achieve the desired goal. Today, world renowned research organizations such as the Salk Instituted are located in San Diego.

#1 You didn’t vote against him.
#2 The tax returns have provenance, the laptop does not.
#3 #4 Trumps taxes are two fold. The first are the loses and income. The second is like watching Ghostbusters. When the taxes meet the loans, just like the Lockmaster and Gatekeeper, things are going to explode.

Since Covid began, I basically have only been indoors with my girlfriend and a very small close family circle, in my personal life. Otherwise, zoom calls with friends and only in-person is to meet up to take a walk outdoors. Unfortunately, in my work life, I have had some begrudingly-necessary in-person, indoors episodes.

Personally, I believe I have been in the top 10% of Covid compliance among Americans.

With all that said, if a contact tracer actually got me on the phone, I would tell him or her to shove his or her head up their backside rather than voluntarily tell some government representative where I’ve been and who I have seen. I would rather throw my iphone in the Hudson River than install some Covid-related tracking app with an admitted, direct report to a govt entity. A typical Japanese person likely feels differently. There’s a cultural difference between the US and the developed Asian nations. There’s a geographical difference between the US and countries in Oceania. Europe is most analogous to the US – I would be more disappointed in the US response to Covid if Europe had substantially less per capita cases than the US.

In sum, I just simply disagree that the US could have had a much different result in response to Covid so far than it has.

SK and Japan, culturally monolithic and compliant cultures.

China? Authoritarian regime fcuking welding into their apartments citizens who test positive….

Stopping the virus is easy, the science is simple. Lock down. Seriously. Not the lock down ‘light’ that we have and bitch about. But hard, suspension of civil rights, do-not-leave-the-house lockdown.

That doesn’t happen in western democracies. It can, if there were support for it. But right now there is not.

  140. BRT says:

Australia and NZ are islands that were in the midst of summer when the pandemic started. Those are outliers. They clearly had an advantage being and island and the temperature conditions favored them. They handled it right though in terms of getting it under control.

Taiwan, again, advantage being an island, but A+ in my book if I were giving them a grade. They immediately smelled the WHO’s bullcrap and ignored it by taking precautions.

They weren’t doing much different than anyone else in the beginning though. Maynard Keenan of Tool had coronavirus in late Feb and he was in Australia. He traveled to New Zealand. No screening, nothing. He was even sick on the plane and he knew it. He got diagnosed in New Zealand.

I spoke to 3 Physicians and also saw it on Medcram. From the very beginning until now, they’ve been supplementing Quercitin and Zinc. Zinc has already proven to inhibit viral replication in this virus and Quercitin increases the bioavailability. This is documented in the published journal literature. HCQ actually does the same thing increasing Zinc uptake. Also, Vitamin D & C supplementation. I’ve been doing the same thing since Sept. I’ve had two close contact exposures in school, both times, tested negative. I’m actually getting antibody tested on Wednesday.

Big pharma is hopelessly entangled with the FDA and NIH. Why people suddenly started denying the concept of “regulatory capture” is beyond me. They don’t want simple treatments.

Here’s a story I have for you. When J&J bought Janssen Pharma, they were buying a whole laundry list of potential HIV meds. The most promising one is still to this day the most effective. They were planning on putting it on the shelf for 5 years so they could roll out all the others and profit off each one successively. This was evil in that it would have costs hundreds of thousands of lives at the time, specifically, in Africa. One of the scientists, who I know personally, sent out emails to all the HIV groups about their plan and they went on a tirade and forced J&J to release it right away. These pharma execs don’t care how many people die if it puts money in their pocket.

I actually had my third round of interview last week for smaller broker dealer in city. I did not make it to fourth unfortunately. Here is how it went, recruiter (direct hire) loved me so passed resume last month for Sr IT PM. They were ok with my range which was 15% more than making now (first time that was not deal breaker in years). I get interview with woman who would be my manager, head of IT project controls. She says looking for Sr IT PM to manage project strategy, IT investment, planning but also someone who can get into dirty into analysis..no problem. She sets me up one of her directors, one who manages analysts/client engagement. She loves me too as I have background to do analysis but also experience in managing stakeholder expectations. So now they love my project management skills and analysis..but they are also looking for Agile rollouts. They set-me up with IT delivery director and he immediately starts asking if I am active scrum master. I explained that I have 60 people in workforce, 3 outsourcing vendor relations, 7m in budget mgt across 7 apps and 4 business analysts that are direct reports. We hired Agile scrum masters in India bc our development in done there, not at all in US. My role is trying to strategize 7 group heads and dozens of Agile teams across different levels of maturities. He goes “so, you don’t manage Agile boards?” Interview ended after 20m. They were looking for Agile scrum master this whole time. This is par for course. No one knows what they want but they want everything upfront and then one thing specifically. A waste of time.

It was done for Al Gore and the process played out and we were stuck with George Bush who by the way I despised. If it’s investigated and the concerns are fully investigated and turn out to be nothing then the process has worked. Anyone can do the job if the dev is done locally, the scrum master needs to work dev team hours…..

Given the questionable election changes that may or may not have been legal it is no surprise Trump is digging his heels in. If you recall the sentiment 4 years ago.

“I am not going to spend an ounce of thought on a legal challenge to an election two years ago when we have critical midterm elections in a few months,” said Neil Makhija, a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, when asked for comment. Makhija, who ran for public office in 2016 as a Democrat, argued that Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, also a Democrat, “is doing everything he can to update our systems to be secure and accurate.”

But David Jefferson, a computer scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, says there is good reason to keep fighting. An expert on election security, he provided technical support and guidance during the initial recount effort.

“It absolutely was not a Stein campaign cash grab,” he told The Daily Beast. And while examining voting machines and their source code may not change the result of the last election — Stein’s attorneys would quickly note they are not trying to — it could help secure the next one, Jefferson argued. It is about transparency.

“To be perfectly clear, we never really had any evidence [of vote hacking],” he said. “The point we have always been making is that you have to look. You have to check. You don’t just accept the results of complex software, especially proprietary software. You don’t just trust it.”

D-FENS, nothing has been determined about the election but just from the data the the swing states are an anomaly compared to the other states. Also the sheer amount of time spent counting is questionable and the reports of the post office backdating ballots is very questionable. The big question is how many ballots were post dated? Just from a data perspective the results in the swing states are very dissimilar from other states. Based on the methods we use to find election fraud in the third world, this election fails the basic checks and should receive some scrutiny…..

When your election resembles one in Venezuela or Cuba you may have a problem…

  218. Hold my beer says:

    D-Fens

I’m sure there are people on both sides who did mail in ballot and voted in person, or mailed in a ballot of a dead relative. I really doubt there were tens of thousands of such cases in the swing states to make much of a difference. If the Dems had fixed Biden’s election, you would think they would have gotten up to 52 seats minimum in the senate and gained seats in the house. Instead they have lost seats in the House, and gained 1 senate seat and have 2 runoffs in Georgia which will see the Dems at best get up to 50. Without at least 50 in the Senate and McConnel in charge Biden won’t get anything of substance through.

I have no issue with doing recounts in close races, but I doubt there will be tens of thousands of discrepancies to swing the results in any state.

Hold, you don’t understand the situation. Establishment politicians on both sides wanted Trump gone, the conspiracy targets Trump and Trump alone. The CIA candidate always wins(it could be on either side, they typically direct it based on the current climate), Trump won in 2016 and was not supposed to, and his decisions to pull troops out is a big problem for the military industrial complex. The sheer amount of coordination between the media, politicians, post office, etc points to a conspiracy. Easier to fix an election than assassinate a president ala JFK.

A whole lot of Biden only ballots appeared, no other local races filled and they came late which is very odd indeed, even more unusual is that it only happened in swing states and all of the votes came from areas know for political corruption that just happen to be controlled by the opposition. Here the rub if they fixed other local races you are now dealing with a block of angry republicans instead of one who most politicians and at least half the american public does not like. Too hard to swing multiple races without drawing too much attention.

  250. Libturd says:

    JCer,

You are one of the few people here that I consider to be a smart guy. Why do you subscribe to the conspiracy theories? Not a one is ever proven true. Not a one.

You write, “Also the sheer amount of time spent counting is questionable and the reports of the post office backdating ballots is very questionable.”

In Pennsylvania alone, there were what, 3 million mail in ballots? WTF? That’s a huge amount of anything to count. And it’s not just counted as you surely know. There are signatures to scrutinize, ballots to sort by date received, etc. The only suspicious timing to me is how they actually got it all done by Friday.

You also write, “The big question is how many ballots were post dated? Just from a data perspective the results in the swing states are very dissimilar from other states.”

How so? Care to share any proof or is this just more unfounded bullsh1t published in tweets by nefarious party hacks? Like there were more votes in Wisconsin than registered voters.

You are smarter than this. So far, there has not been a single case, not one, of intentional fraud. I don’t behoove anyone for checking the legitimacy of the count. But the enormous amount of lies being published by the right about these election results appear only to be surpassed by the number of lies spewed by the administration before they were voted out.

Find some fraud. Then you have something to go on. But find some fraud first please. Otherwise, you look like an idiot.

*Former House Member. he was a dirt bag and jailed back in the 80’s. And somehow still managed to slink his way back into the voting process somehow.

  253. Libturd says:

    home buyer,

The likelihood of the rampant amount of fraud that would be necessary to have turned this election would have needed to be huge. All of the results were called in the polls. Even when I went out on a very short limb and called Florida and Texas for Trump when the polls said otherwise was a gimme. All that I did was allotted the same two or three points of error that won Trump the election in 2016 to Trump again in all of the polls. In the states in question, Trump was up well more than 3 points in each and every poll. This is why I made bets with puzzy Republicans, who I should have known would be too embarrassed to show their faces around here, let alone pay off their dues.

I don’t doubt that there was minor fraud by both sides. But the massive fraud necessary to give this election to Trump is extremely unlikely. It’s just common sense.

  254. Libturd says:

And I am okay with them looking. Always was. But IMHO, they are not likely to find anything. Watching Fox News last night, you would think the complete opposite.

  255. A Home Buyer says:

    Lib,

Completely Agreed. I see no reasonable path Trump wins or even a way 5 states could be attempt coordinated election tampering without a massive footprint of fraud being visible if investigated.

Lib, in general I trend more towards the tinfoil hat side of things. I also have seen how politics works in the US at high levels, my dad knew a lot of very rich and influential people. There is a LOT of dark money in politics, he knew a lot of lobbyists. Trump is a threat to business as usual, things are usually not as they appear.

Powerful and influential people tend to control things, Biden was their man. Hence they rigged the primaries and the general election. As bad as the slate of democrats were he was arguably the weakest, Bernie was denied twice and it was no accident. Biden received incredibly easy treatment from the media and big tech. Who prey tell coordinated all of it?

The Snowden revelations and Assange revelations confirmed a lot of what I had suspected for quite a while. We are all being surveilled, the NSA is collecting tons of data on us. What if I were to tell you Google and Amazon both received early funding from the NSA and the Echo as a concept came directly from the NSA. What if I were to tell you on 9/11 GWB knew an attack was imminent and instead of stopping the hijackers at the airport our intelligence operators stood down and allowed them to board the planes? Mind you we were watching every single person involved in the attacks, consider the already planned invasions oil pipeline they wanted to build in the region as well as the overthrow of Iraq. Again things are not always as they appear.

As for the election, there does not appear to be real evidence of fraud…yet..but the data certainly seems suspect, the pattern of votes in the swing states is not consistent with the other states……

    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/it-defies-logic-scientist-finds-telltale-signs-election-fraud-after-analyzing-mail-ballot

I told my wife on election day, Trump will appear to win going into midnight and by morning the vote would be “corrected” by the CIA. Make no mistake Brennan wants Trump removed out of the fear that he will uncover some of the malfeasance in that organization. If the people knew what the government was doing in their name, people would hang for it.

My dad structured most of Trump’s deals in the 80’s and handled the negotiations with the creditors. When Trump went all birther his comment was I don’t remember Donald being so crazy….

I actually don’t like Donald, I think he is a pompous jerk. That being said from a policy perspective he was way better than Obama and certainly will be better than biden.

  273. No One says:

I expected that Trump would lose like a baby, because as far as I can tell he is incapable of believing that any failure could come from his own faults. In his own head, he can only win, and every loss is due to others cheating him.

Republican politicians know that if any of them try to reverse the apparent election results without rock solid blatant and specific evidence and confessions, they will loose their seats. They also know that Trump is barely a Republican, showed minimal loyalty or support to most of them, and has a short political lifespan now. Sure, they will go along with an investigation, especially if it can uncover some Democratic rat’s nests that have been bugging them for years. But I’d expect them to show about as much loyalty to Trump as Trump showed them. They aren’t going to sacrifice themselves to save him after seeing dozens being thrown under the bus by Trump. Half the Republicans will privately be relieved to see him gone. They, like me, were just voting against the leftists, not voting for Trump.

Statistical improbabilities aren’t proof of fraud. I’d think 100,000 fake ballots would be pretty easy to track down, if they happened. It’s easier to imagine that Trump’s gratuitous meanness and lying energized more people to vote against him. I hope Trump thinks the jollies he got from sh1tting on McCain was worth losing Arizona.
I wonder how Trump would have done in Wisconsin if he hadn’t alienated Paul Ryan, former Wisconsin congressman.

  274. JCer IraiseYou2MoreAluminumFoilHats says:

    ExEssex,

If there is a coup, kiss US Dollar and US financial markets good bye. Expect our foreign bases to be closed by host country and all those troops will be pouring back here and likely not siding with the Donald.

Importantly, once started. It means to keep and retain control it will escalate to total warfare violence. Which will be horrific and of course triggering the UN and likely moves by the Chinese/Russia/Iranian troops under UN Blue Helmet coming into the US.

Remember there won’t be an US Army, Navy, Marine Corp, Air Force here. Most service members will quit the Donald’s Army and likely become guerillas. So most so thugs in so called “militias” that started this mess will get to play “Red Dawn” wet dreams as they are taken down by drones.

  275. crushednjmillenial says:

Trump just needs to find a few thousand dead voters, fraudlent ballots, etc for his crusade to be successful.

Even just a little proven election fraud is enough for him to go trumping for years about “massive election fraud which stole the election on behalf of President Biden the Puppet.” It will be a rallying for cry for Republicans in 2022 (“make sure to vote, because the Dems are bringing 10 dead voters to the polls for every living one.”), and most importantly “the Steal” will be a centerpiece of . . . you guessed it . . . the TRUMP 2024 CAMPAIGN.

If he could actually swing one state away from Biden due to Court proceedings, then that would just be a cherry on top as any state besides Nevada denies Biden 300 electoral votes.

  278. Juice Box says:

Neither it seems. PA said no strep and his throat did not look red at all unlike what the school nurse said. No fever, no other symptoms other than headache. We went to several stores and McDonalds during our six hour wait to see an urgent care PA, my son scarfed down McDonalds nuggets with barbecue sauce and fries, so no issue with his appetite or sore throat.

Upset stomach seems like a case of Candy-itis to me. I am going to round up the remaining Halloween candy and toss it.

Official test PCR might be back or not tomorrow, seeing as how samples will ship out at 10 PM tonight it will be longer. They would not do the rapid test, you need to really have symptoms to get it.

  283. Juice Box says:

BRT – I made several calls this morning, looking for a test. All I really needed was a script for Lab Corp, good luck getting that only without a full exam. In my opinion the local Pediatricians want their VIG for Covid or want to take no chances of shutting down their practice again. What doctor’s office cannot do a nasal swab, and ship it to a lab?

I talked to many parents at the urgent care all were referred some from many miles some pretty far away all there for a simple nasal swab to clear a kid to go to school, no kids looked or acted sick. Not a single cough in 6 hours was heard. We were all hanging out in the parking lot and the grass median at the strip mall waiting for a text message to go in for the test.

Urgent Care was a PA and their technicians, I get it they are in the volume business. But reality is the local docs ain’t in it for the Hippocratic oath when you might have to lay off people again, borrow money from the bank and rebuild your practice.

Same for our Kid’s dentist too..

  284. BRT says:

They’ve been talking about the great climate migration for 15 straight years now. It has not happened. But that being said, NJ is feeling damn good with these 70 degree November days.

    We did Pixel by Labcorp.

Insurance covers it. Was zero cost. Didn’t require a visit – but you need to self-certify in a way that indicates you need a test.

They Fedex it to you overnight. You do the test at home and Fedex it back. 2 days.

  286. BRT says:

That’s why this disease is almost impossible to contain here. You want kids to take it seriously when at best, they get slightly sore for a day. Local PD at my district’s town had to break up a Halloween party of over 100 teens drinking inside.

Seems it went into someone’s pocket, whether it be Jared or some other federal or state crony we shall see.

There is no reason why we do not have instant tests. The delays are who’s fault? FDA? WTF!!!! We should be waking up every morning and self testing with our toothbrushes by now.

So many cases, so close to getting us. Our little guy has now been exposed three times and we are really careful.

Be careful people. Yeah it doesn’t kill everyone. But it does kill some. Don’t be that some. We already won our unlucky lottery with our little guy’s brain cancer. You never think it’s going to happen to you until it does.

  292. Juice Box says:

The mail wasn’t all that slow even across the country for the last few months, I think I received ballots in early October. How early do you put a bill in the mail? A week before, 2? It’s not like it was traveling some large distance. Why do democrats act like this is some complex task, collecting a few million ballots and delivering them to a central location, opening them and having a machine count them is not some logistical nightmare, in fact it’s a pretty easy task……….

Heck in NJ we didn’t even really use the post office, why put ballots in with the regular mail when they are all going to the same processing location?
