Passaic country on fiiiire. (Morris no slouch either)
Of course genx were the cool ones.

Passaic County is hot. Clifton is ground zero, perfectly located. 2025 will shake out like 2024 followed by no change in 2026. Suzanne says you’re priced out forever.
NJ housing along with the associated property taxes are just too high. How does the average Joe afford these prices?
Gen-X had their thing but nothing tops the Woodstock generation. My kid is Gen-Z, talented in too many areas to list, musically inclined as well and admitted that boomer music was the best, among other things from that era. I know, just one’s opinion but the boomers founded an iconic, everlasting culture.
All hail the technocracy.
Zuck spends $25 million on a DC home.
Gen-X:
Music:
Hip-Hop:
Hip-hop music also gained prominence, with artists like De La Soul, Tupac, and Jay-Z influencing Gen X.
Grunge:
The grunge movement, with bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, became a cultural symbol of the 90s.
Other Genres:
.
Gen X was also influenced by punk rock, rave, and hair metal.
Technology:
Rise of MTV: MTV became a major cultural force, shaping music and fashion trends.
Increased Technology: Gen X grew up with the increasing availability of technology in the home, influencing entertainment and media consumption.
Personal Computer: The rise of personal computers and the internet also significantly impacted Gen X.
Societal Shifts:
Divorce Rates:
Rising divorce rates had a significant impact on Gen X, many of whom grew up in single-parent households.
Women in the Workforce:
Increasing numbers of women entering the workforce also influenced Gen X’s understanding of work and family.
The Cold War:
The Cold War and the Fall of the Berlin Wall were significant historical events that shaped Gen X’s worldview.
Other Events:
Other events like the Vietnam War, the AIDS pandemic, and the rise of yuppie culture also left their mark on Gen X.
Other Notable Influences:
Independent Spirit: Gen X is often characterized by an independent and self-reliant spirit, shaped by the economic and social changes they experienced.
Adaptability: The uncertainty of their times led to a flexible and adaptable nature.
Skepticism: Gen X is often described as skeptical, questioning authority and traditional norms.
I feel like boomer music culture was defined by a smaller number of very iconic artists, and genx music culture was defined by the sheer volume of diverse talent. Maybe this is an artifact of how music distribution changed through the 70s and 80s, beyond just the MTV era. The cassette tape made music portable, CDs felt like the future, even further drove convenience and distribution.
You can see this shift at the tail end of the boomer era, if we use 1970 as the cutoff.
Suppose you probably need to argue whether we should be considering the era of the artist vs. the album release date. In which case a very big chunk of the 70s would probably shift into Boomer territory.
Though, I’d probably want to argue that that era feels like it has more in common with the GenX era than the BULK of the boomer era.
Flourishing. This is what happens in non-maga states.
Northerners never relied in slavery.

Unlike the South, NJ was built by immigrants and not slavery:
Despite World War I interrupting New Jersey’s immigration, by 1920 more than 60% of New Jersey residents were immigrants or children of immigrants, Italians were the largest immigrant group, followed by Polish.
Suppose you probably need to argue whether we should be considering the era of the artist vs. the album release date. In which case a very big chunk of the 70s would probably shift into Boomer territory.
That’s probably more accurate.

Undergrad degrees are mostly a waste of time unless you’re working towards a Masters in engineering, becoming a physical therapist, a physician’s assistant or working towards a Phd to conduct research. BA and BS degrees are mostly… BS. Colleges exist today to make a boat load of money and sway young minds into the liberal doctrine of nonsense. I’m sure somewhere some college is offering a degree in TDS studies. You’re guaranteed a job in activist anger techniques and s0cial destruction planning.
Further proof that degrees are primarily useless; I have a friend who didn’t even graduate high school who became CEO for a few companies brought on to turn around the firm(s) and then sold to Fortune 500s for substantial sums. An acquisition dealer, if you will. A little brains and A LOT of moxie yields results.
This is my major issue with China…they are hypocrites. Everything they attack America for doing, they are now doing. From colonialism in Africa to building a massive military complex….to now arming other nations. F them….act all on their high horse and then do the same thing.
Everyone that attacks the American empire….would do the exact same thing, but worse. America is damn civil for the amount of power they have had in the past 100 years. The entire world’s standard of living was raised by America…let that sink in. Yet….so evil….right.

This should keep the Chinese from being unemployed. I guess if America doesn’t want their coffee makers, they can just make these fighter jets.
knowing China, they started production three hours ago. They’re not lazy like Americans are.
China is reportedly in talks with Pakistan for Islamabad to procure 40 advanced stealth fighter jets from Beijing. The J-35A is China’s most advanced military aircraft.
China will deliver all 40 stealth fighter jest in less than two years. China’s entire defence industry is already set up for mass production as it does not depend on any other country for any part of the aircraft.

The stability America provided was priceless. No major conflicts for so long that allowed humans to focus on innovation instead of war. Now the entire world wants to destroy that out of the hate for America….or i should say jealousy. They never realized what America did for all of them, instead, they looked at America with jealous hateful eyes.
Pumpkin, I laid it out for the board years ago. Medical bills are a game, not a contract. They are overcharging and settling for 10 cents on the dollar from insurance. Medicaid/Medicare is even less but the money comes in right away without a fight. When you are presented with a bill for $2k, you can easily negotiate it down to $200. If the medical practice sends you to collection, they settle out of court for 10 cents on the dollar and the collection agency takes 5%, meaning, the provider has only gotten 5 cents on the dollar…which is about what they hoped for the begin with. My father’s practice probably had about a million in unpaid bills each year. That’s money that they would never see.
There are a few suckers out there that actually bite and pay off the bill in full.
Yup, you nailed it. You were dead on.
Kabeesh

After a recent minor accident I took my kid to the pediatrician – I’ve been going to for over 15 years. Got her checked out for any signs of any neck or other injuries. 15 minutes in and out and the bill was $375. Everything was fine and because it is an auto incident the health insurance wouldn’t pay. The auto insurance says that my deductible is high and wouldn’t pay for it.
So I reach out to the pediatrician billing department and say that I have been bringing my kids here for a ling time and we gave you a lot of business over time, so what can you do about the $375 bill. And they are like “sorry we cannot do anything”… and they just wouldn’t budge. I paid the $375 out of pocket.
I guess I should not have paid and haggled after a few unpaid reminders.

President Donald Trump has had more than $270 million in debt forgiven since 2010 after he failed to repay his lenders for a Chicago skyscraper development, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
An analysis of his tax records by the Times shows that after the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago encountered financial problems, big banks and hedge funds cut Trump considerable slack, granting him years of additional time to repay his debts, much of which was ultimately forgiven.
And while the previously unreported forgiven debts would usually fuel a large tax bill, Trump appears to have managed to pay almost no federal income tax on them, the Times reported, partially because of the significant financial losses his other businesses were enduring.

BREAKING:
*FED HOLDS BENCHMARK RATE IN 4.25%-4.5% TARGET RANGE
*FED: RISKS OF HIGHER UNEMPLOYMENT, HIGHER INFLATION HAVE RISEN
The Federal Reserve announced Wednesday it will leave interest rates unchanged amid higher prices from President Donald Trump’s tariff policies and weakening economic growth.
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell “is sitting on a hornet’s nest of headaches — in that situation, he is going to hold tight,” said Brian Bethune, an economist and professor at Boston College.
Largely because of mixed economic signals and the United States’ changing tariff agenda, uncertainty is “off the charts,” Bethune said. “We are as close to a ‘black swan’ policy shock as you can get.”
If only black swans were black tulips!

Does Not Fit Narrative; Must Suppress:
Accused MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia allegedly worked as a “taxi service” for a convicted human smuggler to transport illegal migrants from Texas to various locations across the United States, according to a report.
Jose Ramon Hernandez-Reyes, who was convicted of smuggling illegal migrants in 2020, told federal investigators that he previously operated a smuggling service based in Baltimore — and hired Abrego Garcia on “multiple occasions” to transport border crossers across the country, ABC News reported.
The Department of Justice sent federal agents to a prison in Talladega, Alabama, late last month to question Hernandez-Reyes, 38, about Abrego Garcia, the alleged gangbanger at the center of a high-profile court battle over his mistaken deportation from Maryland to El Salvador by the Trump administration.
Abrego Garcia, 29, was driving a car owned by Hernandez-Reyes when he was suspected of human trafficking during a 2022 traffic stop in Tennessee.
After pulling him over for speeding, cops found eight passengers in the car but no luggage — despite the group having been on the road for three days from Texas.
Abrego Garcia told the officers he was transporting the group in his boss’s car for construction work in Maryland and was ultimately let go with a citation for driving with an expired license.
Hernandez-Reyes told federal agents that he met Abrego Garcia around 2015 when he was operating an illegal migrant “taxi service,” sources familiar with the interrogation told ABC News.

My paycheck is based off a signed contract. Medical offices and testing services are now going “that will be $15 copay”, then after your insurance pays them, they send you a “bill” saying your insurance paid 10%, here is a bill for the other 90%, oh wait let’s adjust it down to 40% to make it seem like we are giving you a discount. You can save a fortune in pharmaceuticals if you have a friend who is a vet write your prescriptions out for your dog.
Or just use a fake name at the pharmacy and claim you are from out of the country and uninsured. That one works pretty well, especially for lower-cost common drugs or generics, I’d bet that 90% of the time, it’s going to be cheaper to lie than use your big name US healthcare insurer.
The vet game is going to be cheaper though.

In NJ, 1.8 million residents rely on $24 billion in Medicare
Despite its being a wealthy state with one of the nation’s highest per capita incomes, New Jersey’s Medicaid program — called NJ FamilyCare — is used by 1.8 million residents.
It is one of state government’s most expensive programs, with a $24 billion budget this fiscal year. The federal government provides $14 billion, and $10 billion comes from the $56.6 billion state budget.
$24b / 1.8m residents = $13.3k annually per participant for healthcare – not per family, PER PERSON.
Where is doge? Fucking around in stupid places when they should be focused on healthcare if they want to find money to save.
Grim,
Isn’t that pretty screwed up for the Greatest nation in the world?
Isn’t it criminal?
You all embrace capitalism, why are you embracing this-its deceitful.
It all seems so hypocritical, because it is. It’s theft.
And what happens to the vet should you get sick from the pills you take.
Why should you have to go through any of this?
Come on you defenders of Repukes. Or Democraps?
Where were your heroes that cared about you from your respective teams?
But you are fine sending money to other countries, or weapons, or anything else. Things that could buy you the healthcare you are complaining about.
Go salute your flag. And after that, take your doggie pills.
People in other countries that are way less wealthy wouldn’t put up with this. But Americans do like frogs in pots.
It’s amazing how using no insurance or GoodRx or similar for a prescription is usually cheaper than using insurance.
Woof
HMB,
Your government actually bans you from going to Canada or Mexico to bring back discounted medicine.
Well now both of those countries will just tell you to GFY anyway. And you deserve it.
If the Chinese can build a non stripped car for 10K, Why does Bezos need 27k to make a stripped down vehicle?
Government grift, Even if it cost him double than China, what’s the other 7k for?
To steal your tax money, that’s what.
Phoenix
I remember shrub bragging he was keeping us safe from foreign prescriptions. His followers had no clue that 90% of their prescription meds are either made or have the critical ingredient made in china and India.
Curious, if Russia sides with Pakistan, what does that mean for India’s oil purchases from Russia? Defense spending with Russia?
Or is that why Russia came out screaming for moderation and restraint of the conflict?
“We call on the parties to exercise restraint to prevent further deterioration of the situation,” the ministry said, adding that tensions should be resolved “through peaceful, diplomatic means.”
How do you not read that and just laugh.
HMB
Anyone thinking that either party has their best interest at heart (middle class that is) are totally brain dead.
Does Not Fit Narrative; Must Suppress:
Accused MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia allegedly worked as a “taxi service” for a convicted human smuggler to transport illegal migrants from Texas to various locations across the United States, according to a report.
Should be easy to convict him in a US court then- right?
Juries should decide who’s guilty- not presidents.
Unless you are in a dictatorship.

U.S. pushes nations facing tariffs to approve Musk’s Starlink, cables show
Some countries have turned to the satellite internet firm in conjunction with trade talks, State Department staffers wrote. The U.S. has a strategic interest in countering Chinese internet providers, but Musk’s role complicates the picture.
Spyware-maker NSO ordered to pay $167 million for hacking WhatsApp.
A drop in the bucket compared to the value of the data that was collected on important individuals.
This is what is called a loss leader. The data collected is priceless.
