N.J. to have nation’s 5th-largest homeownership affordability gap by 2030
You don’t have to tell prospective homeowners how difficult it is to buy a house in New Jersey in 2025. The bad news is it’s going to get even harder by 2030, according to HireAHelper, an online marketplace where consumers can find, compare and book local moving companies.
New Jersey is predicted to have the ninth-most expensive median house price in the country by 2030 of $844,849. Garden State residents will need the second-highest household income to afford it, according to HireAHelper. With annual property costs, including mortgage and taxes, expected to top $70,104, households will need to earn $210,313, a 94.61% jump from current income levels to keep up affordability. That’s predicted to be the fifth-largest homeownership gap in the nation.
New Jersey is joined by eastern states New York, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire in the top 10 states with yawning affordability gaps. The rest of the top 10 are western states California, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
By 2030, home prices are projected to outpace income growth in all 50 states, with a national median of $615,103. Eight out of 50 states will have to see their household income double in five years to make predicted house prices affordable.

Don’t mess with the data center folks. They want the electric companies to build out the infrastructure so they can expand on demand. Again this isn’t chump change either a 50 megawatt data center is on the plans? That means a new substation that cost millions needs to be built out but it might never need that capacity for several years. They want them to pay for the full 50 megawatt pull of power supply continually?
How about a massive 500 MW substation? Well that is being built now. A single substation being built new for Intel’s Ohio facility to handle 500 MW cost $95 million. This is for two massive semiconductor manufacturing plants and billions of investment. Intel plans to hire 3,000 direct Intel jobs permanently and there are many thousands of construction jobs involved.
Don’t mess around too much or those data centers and manufacturing plants and their power needs and the jobs will end up elsewhere like Texas.

Getting back to NJ real estate prices. Everyone has to take into account the amount of money laundering that is creating cash transactions in many communities with asian communities being in the top of list. They bought the data center and land right next to Susquehanna nuclear power plant, that was owned by the electric company to begin with. They cut a deal “behind the meter” electrical hookup to consume 40% of the output of that nuclear power plant.

I’ve walked around inside the actual Susquehanna Berwick reactor. I hope the air biscuit I dropped in there dissipated. Truth be told, I was in a radiation suit, so for the most part, I contaminated myself. This was back in the 90s. The scarier part of the story is that I was able to literally walk into that powerplant unsearched and got close enough to the reactor before someone even asked what I was doing there. I think the security team was from Texas. It’s a good thing the only bomb I dropped was my own NG.
The longer story is that I was really into nuclear fission/fusion when I was in college and I was driving out to Cincinnati to visit my sister when I saw the twin cooling towers from the highway. I drove up to the plant to try to get a tour. Of course, once found, they made me leave but said I could get a tour on my way back from my sisters after a background check. I ended up getting the full half-day tour from the plant director. Was cool as shit. Especially being able to walk around the empty reactor which was down for maintenance. Seeing the cooling pond for the spent rods was wild too. I’ve also visited the old Tokomak reactor at the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab twice.
My paternal father took me to Waterford Nuclear Generation Station down in Louisiana (he lived in Jackson MS), when it was under construction in the late 70s. That’s where it all started with me.

I have explained this more than once about the lack of Epstein evidence and anything that might incriminate other people like Prince Andrew or even Trump.
When the local Palm Beach Cops first went after Epstein 20 years ago in 2005 they executed a search warrant and raided his house on Oct. 20….He was apparently tipped off as evidence was removed before the cops got there, computers and all removed. Nothing but dangling wires.
Right after that police raid Epstein hired Alan Dershowitz, Roy Black, Jack Goldberger, Gerald Lefcourt and Kenneth Starr to defend him. The best lawyers money could buy. Hard evidence this includes anything they had on Prince Andrew, that he was diddling teens with Epstein at his Palm Beach house back in 2001 for example, wasn’t found…..Apparently his lawyers had his computers some people have said.
Epstein was not arrested that day of the search in October of 2005, that week or that month. Not until July of the next year, and it took grand jury testimony from victims to get the indictments.
Case went sideways with the Florida State Prosecution and then Feds got involved. A Deal was cut… Whatever hard evidence that may have existed against other rich and famous well it was gone…. probably destroyed on his lawyers orders.
Is there stuff that could still be released that would incriminate anyone else? I would say if Ghislaine Maxwell had dirt on Trump she would be using it by now to get her own pardon. 20 years is a long time when you are 63 years old. Only time will tell.

Officials in the Texas county where more than 100 people have died from the July 4 flash flood did not use technology that would have sent Amber Alert-like messages to everyone in the vicinity of the Guadalupe River, according to a bombshell new report.
Kerr County officials did not use the more powerful notification tool they had even after a National Weather Service meteorologist warned them about the potential for catastrophic risk, per The Washington Post.
The meteorologist, identified as Jason Runyen, posted his warnings in a Slack channel that local officials and reporters were in.
The National Weather Service issued 22 alerts through IPAWS on July 4, and each message used increasingly dire language.
County officials, though, also have the added knowledge of the area that federal weather forecasters might not.
If they had sent IPAWS alerts earlier, they could have described risks to certain neighborhoods or provided more specific guidance on how to stay safe, experts said.
Instead, county officials used a more limited warning system called CodeRED. When activated, it send voice messages to landlines listed in the White Pages and text messages to cellphones of people who have signed up, the Post reported.
Some locals didn’t get CodeRED messages until 10:55am, according to screenshots obtained by the Post. That was over five hours after the river reached its highest recorded level.
Any technology that sequentially dials phone numbers and leaves voice messages will be limited by the number of outbound trunks available for dialing.

A lot of affluent towns in DFW don’t have tornado sirens. I suspect more don’t have them than do have them. We do have all the major news stations have apps with location based weather warning alerts. I don’t recall ever receiving a text amber like warning for weather though.
We do have flood signs along the roads near low lying streams. It’s a sign that starts a few feet above the lowest point of the road and shows the water depth up to five feet. Some places, mostly highway entrances and exits also have toll booth like gates first responders block the roads with if flooding has occurred or is expected.
