Real estate agents do add value by connecting buyers and sellers more meaningfully than a quick online search, and by taking the lead on contracts and negotiations, which can get complicated. But do these services truly warrant a $60,000 bill for the sale of a million-dollar home (which is frighteningly no longer a jarring number)?
Proponents of the NAR lawsuit, myself included, would say no. And saying that doesn’t mean I want real estate agents to take a pay cut, since their salaries are reasonable. What it does mean, however, is that the total revenue of the real estate industry will shrink, and there must be accordingly fewer agents to share that revenue.
When you realize there are 1.5 million NAR members and possibly up to 3 million licensed real estate agents in the United States, you see part of the reason commissions have stayed so high. That many agents for just over 4 million home sales in 2023 means most agents wouldn’t close enough deals to keep the lights on.
While it’s far from the only factor keeping rates high, the most reasonable answer to this commission problem could be to reduce the number of agents in the market, allowing brokers to make fair compensation while customers aren’t victims of inflated commission rates.

I have mixed feelings about drone strikes against terrorists that are in other countries and beyond the reach of US law enforcement.
But those guys were legitimate military targets. And there was no way for the US to capture them.

Under international law there is a progression in use of force.
First, tell them to stop and be boarded.
If they refuse, fire warning shots.
If they still refuse to stop, then the CG can use “disabling fire”- damage the boat to the point where they can’t continue to run.

Secretary of State holds the primary authority for designating Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) under the Immigration and Nationality Act as well as the 1996 law Bill Clinton signed the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act.

And (outside of the administration) there are not too many who disagree.

The laws giving the pres the power to designate a group as a foreign terrorist organization (along with other US and international laws) do not give the president the power to use military force against those organizations (except in cases of an “imminent threat”- which has a precise legal definition).
And, AFAICT, the only legal justification the Trump administration has given for their actions is:
1) we’ve declared them to be terrorists; and
2) The president has the authority under Article II of the constitution to do what he’s doing.
No mention of those other laws you’ve cited…

OC1- You can complain all you want about it but it does not matter. The laws are clear here and with the recent 2024 Supreme court ruling ANY President has the power to blow them to smithereens under the law.
I am going to use Obama as a case study, however. Obama personally approved the targets for many lethal strikes, a process that included killing even American citizens and their families, those they deemed terrorists by our government.
The Supreme Court ruling held that the president has absolute immunity for acts that fall within his “conclusive and preclusive” authority as commander in chief and presumptive immunity for all other official acts.
There is no challenging this anymore. It’s is this way unless Congress somehow can get their act together and change the laws so any administration, whichever one is in power cannot simply change their top secret criteria andtop secret legal justification for lethal military operations, and keep it top secret so nobody even knows why.
If you are going to defend narco terrorists, you are going to have to come up with another reason why these scum should be defended in our courts by lawyers other than Orange Man Bad.
