From the Daily Mail:
The great work-from-home dream is over as America’s hottest pandemic housing market is now one of its biggest losers
As pandemic lockdowns sent Americans fleeing for warm-weather locales where they could take Zoom meetings in shorts and flip-flops, Florida emerged as one of the hottest destinations for the remote-work crowd.
Now, these employees have been called back to the office in droves — forcing them to abandon their sun-drenched homes while property values tank.
Florida dominated a year-end list of metro areas nationwide that saw the steepest year-over-year median home value losses — and experts predict it’s only going to get worse.
The Sunshine State claimed six out of 10 spots on Realtor.com’s report, which found the North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota area to be the hardest hit.
The Gulf Coast metro saw its median home price drop 8.6 percent over last year, or a whopping $36,423, to a median listing price of $478,800.
‘During the pandemic, many of these areas saw home prices shoot way up because there was so much demand and so many people were able to work remotely,’ Sarasota real estate agent and Ron Myers, owner of Ron Buys Florida Homes, told the Daily Mail.
‘A big part of the problem in this area is people from New York and up North have to move back for work and there hasn’t been an increase in value in their homes since the pandemic, in fact there’s been a drop,’ he added.
…
‘Many people moved here during the pandemic and have to go back to the office, and that’s out of Florida,’ Katrina Allison, a local real estate broker in Cape Coral, told the Daily Mail. ‘In the meantime, their houses have lost value.’
…
Spaniak explained that many people who bought homes for remote work ended up with a property that’s now a burden, as insurance and property taxes have increased while housing prices plummeted.
‘Sellers need to figure out if they’ll take a lower a price because the market is not going back up anytime soon,’ she said, predicting that things are going to hit rock bottom in the new year.
‘It’s only going to get worse,’ Spaniak continued.

In the NJ/NY/CT metro area, owning a house is a luxury; much like having a collection of wine, first class suites and Cartier.
“60 Minutes” correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi tells colleagues that CBS’s decision to pull her segment tonight “is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.”
What’s work?
If anyone is concerned about AI robot overlords taking over the world and destroying humanity … at least we know unplugging them will still work:

VAG,
You’re grabbing at anything now, any irrelevant, obscure story whatsoever… much like a drunken, fat fuck at 1:45 AM in a murder burger joint off the route 1&9 truck route. That’s not french fries you’re eating, it’s ketchup-soaked wax paper. And pull your shirt down, no one wants to see your stretch-marked blubber.
Sellers don’t need to figure out if they want to take a lower price, they either take it and unload the albatross, or they hold on to it. There is no figuring out.
Metals have decoupled from reality. Fascinating. Inflation is subdued so I assume a combination of plain old uncertainty plus the demand for silver in batteries, solar panels and more current industrial applications is the driving force. As for gold, just anxiety? Weaker dollar?
If we turn to equities, still have room to run. AI is going to fuel this journey for a long time. Emerging technologies and applied application(s) are going to emerge that no one saw coming.
Housing? If you’re not already in within the gravity of NYC, it’s a real battle. I’d be on the verge of murdering someone if I was currently house hunting. Bidding on a $700,000 piece of shit house I really don’t like with six other bidders would make me slightly angry.
Nothing for you smelly poor scoundrels. Bah humbug all men are created equal my azz
Major Airline Ends Frequent Flyer Miles For Basic Economy Tickets
American Airlines is ending the ability for basic economy travelers to earn frequent flyer miles.
I’m feeling rich! King Trump says i’m no longer “middle.” Yeee f’n haaaah!
In several public statements and Truth Social posts since July 2025, President Trump has proposed sending $2,000 “tariff dividend checks” to American families. These would be funded by revenue collected from tariffs on foreign imports—a central part of his trade and economic agenda.
According to the Trump administration, these checks would be directed toward low- and middle-income Americans, with an income cap likely around $100,000 per year for individuals or families.
Alcohol: Around 176,000 deaths annually in the USA.
Tobacco: Around 480,000 deaths annually in the USA.
Fentanyl: 48,422 deaths in 2024.
Oh, the drama. We care so much about drug addicts. Yeah, right.
Women lie:
Last week, Attorney General Pam Bondi claimed that drug busts during the first 100 days of the Trump administration had saved 119 million lives. She soon issued a correction, announcing that the true figure was more than twice as high – 258 million.
The main point: The claim is implausible on many levels.
Here’s why:
Nowhere near 258 million Americans use drugs that would even potentially contain fentanyl.
Most fentanyl is consumed by a tiny subset of Americans with much higher tolerances than the 2-mg dose that officials say could cause an overdose.
Even when overdoses do occur, many can be reversed using naloxone and other techniques.
By Bondi’s logic, if law enforcement continued to seize fentanyl at the same rate for another month or so, the Trump administration could claim credit for saving every single American from a fatal drug overdose.
Hey – my screen name has always been grim.
In 2024, the U.S. alcohol industry (beer, wine, and spirits combined) represented a massive economic engine, generating roughly $360–$520+ billion in annual economic activity, supporting over 4 million jobs across production, distribution, retail, hospitality, agriculture, and transportation, and delivering approximately $60–$70+ billion in tax revenue to federal, state, and local governments—of which about $10–11 billion came from federal excise taxes alone—making alcohol a material contributor to U.S. GDP, employment, and public funding nationwide.
Grim,
Don’t forget how alcohol kept the birth rate above zero for many years.
Anybody got some stats on how many jobs fentanyl created?
Keeps my industry busy, just like alcohol does.
Take away fentanyl, you would need less cops, lawyers, prison guards, drug counselors, funeral directors, etc.
Hundreds of Big Post-Election Donors Have Benefited From Trump’s Return to Office
The president’s team has created a highly unusual fund-raising apparatus for causes he favors. The Times analyzed more than half a billion dollars in contributions from 346 donors. Some have received pardons, jobs, access to the president and other valuable gains.
By Karen Yourish, Kenneth P. Vogel and Charlie Smart
Since President Trump was elected a second time, he and his allies have raised nearly $2 billion for his favored political causes and passion projects. That total, which was confirmed by four people involved in the fund-raising, likely eclipses the amount raised to support his 2024 campaign.
The astounding haul hints at a level of transactionalism for which it is difficult to find obvious comparisons in modern American history. The identities of the donors behind much of the cash are not legally required to be, and have not been, publicly disclosed. In some cases, Mr. Trump’s team has offered donors anonymity.
Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves
“ In other cases, The Times was able to quantify large donations for which the amounts were previously unknown. Those included gifts from the technology firm Palantir, which donated $10 million to the ballroom project and $5 million to America250. Additionally, the Palantir co-founder Alex Karp donated $1 million each to the inauguration and to MAGA Inc. In Mr. Trump’s second term, Palantir has secured federal contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars, including to develop software to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement deport people. ”
Sorry Trump.
Gonna be no peace deal for you in Ukraine after the attempted assassination in Moscow.
That wasn’t nice.
We all love stats, right!!
Explain this one.

Elise Stefanik Tried Everything to Please Trump. He Still Jilted Her.
By Annie Karni
Reporting from Washington
Ms. Stefanik’s shoddy treatment by the president amounted to karmic comeuppance for a Republican lawmaker who came to Congress as a Harvard-educated moderate but tacked unapologetically to the MAGA right when it suited her political purposes. They said she personified the opportunistic shape-shifting that gripped her party.
“My greatest disappointment is Elise Stefanik, who should know better,” Representative Don Beyer, Democrat of Virginia, said in an interview last year, describing her as a one-time friend. “She went off the deep end.”
Her tumble from grace crystallized the limits of MAGA loyalty and the risks of building a political identity around Mr. Trump, who can turbocharge or torpedo a career — sometimes both. Once one of the president’s most stalwart defenders, Ms. Stefanik, who referred to herself as “ultra MAGA” and styled herself after Mr. Trump, ultimately found herself undermined by him and politically adrift.

BREAKING:
Trump announcement: 25 new battleships to be built, 3 aircraft carriers, fighter jets, 15 submarines… a total new fleet. He says we’re going to build an overwhelming fleet,
State of the art everything. Everything! I can only imagine. This is what leadership looks like. The democrats would rather talk about stocking boys bathrooms with feminine pads, edible crayons and pronouns.
Fast Eddie,
The USA is certainly behind China in ship building. Hopefully we can close the gap. Just as important is the manpower necessary to operate the weapons and man the ships. Unfortunately the Far Left would love to disarm the US military just like they want to disarm ordinary civilians. The „replacements“ brought in by Biden and Merkel to re-populate the West are very suspect. They have no desire to integrate into Western culture. Doubtful they would support the country in a loyal fashion when the SHTF. As the saying goes- Import the 3rd World, become the 3rd World.
Chad- We build ships?
Real reason shipbuilding is gone is government subsidies and support. It’s not a profitable business unless it’s a billion dollar military ship.
China builds a 1000 large ships a year, massive ships 750 feet long and sells them for $45 million dollars a piece. Steel probably cost more than that.
5:27 meanwhile rural hospitals close…. Food benefits slashed….healthcare costs skyrocket.
Chad: We are way behind China, and I don’t believe we will catch up. Biden did nothing in his 4 years to stem our decline. Now China has the largest navy in the world. The far left does not care, they hate the USA. China laughs at us.
“As the saying goes “
For old racist trashn like you yea.
The bigger question is whether Americans’ loyalty will slow walk toward China’s world, when the other alternative is Neo-Feudal Tech Lords that just want serf to kneel and heavily tech enforced nightmare.
After witnessing the behavior of Elmo Ketamine, the Palantir nerd boys, the Plastic Surgery Oracle Miracle guy and his son, and other Billionaire boys all in a race to unwillingly become Colonel Kurtz. Will you trust them and bring the tech home?
There is an argument being made that AI is not a forgone conclusion. AI is being accepted as a forgone conclusion by its proponents and detractors. Once accepted it leads to control of the users by the operators. Operators that are setting themselves up for lacking any accountability in any sphere or dimension. Operators that still have not found a true way to monetize it.
Look at Meta, its putting its AI under a pay wall. It realized that it won’t make money with it using their Standard Operating Procedure of manipulating marketing data for advertising revenue, because any data that it will absorb is likely to be corrupted by other AI providers’ interference.
The one thing China has going for it that the CCP fears civil disorder. The milleniums long societal acceptance of “Heaven’s Mandate” create a loose level of accountability because it under girds the credibility of anyone in power. If things go bad, the hooks start getting ready to yank you out of the stage.
If the USA transitions into this a nightmarish tech oppressive authoritarian propaganda state then the Chinese alternative and support for it by other countries and Americans themselves will be the future.
I watched this. And now we know what is really going on:
A 60 Minutes segment that was spiked from Sunday night’s episode just hours before airtime has been leaked online after being played during the show’s Canada broadcast.
The newsmagazine had been set to air veteran journalist Sharyn Alfonsi’s ‘Inside CECOT’ segment, featuring interviews with a group of Venezuelan men who thought they were being deported back to their home country – only to wind up at the notorious El Salvador prison.
But just two hours before the program was set to air, 60 Minutes announced on social media that the lineup had been updated and ‘”Inside CECOT” will air in a future broadcast.’
A source at CBS News explained that network executives determined the CECOT segment ‘needed additional reporting’ after new CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss requested a number of changes.
It appears the schedule change came too late for Global TV in Canada, however, as the original episode aired – with the ‘Inside CECOT’ segment.
That episode is now available on Global TV’s streaming platform, and was quickly shared on platforms like X and YouTube from viewers who posted their own recordings online.
Bari Weiss is the Pat Bondi of Journalism.
