New Jersey’s housing market entered the year with more homes available for sale and a modest increase in prices compared to last January, according to housing market data released this week by New Jersey Realtors.

The Englewood Cliffs PBA is pushing back against Borough Administrator Intashan Chowdhury’s position that Chapter 78 contribution requirements still apply unless a different percentage is negotiated in the collective bargaining agreement.
Chowdhury said the borough is obligated to follow state law.
“Chapter 78 has not sunset. The statute expressly provides that employee and retiree health benefit contributions remain in effect unless a different contribution percentage has been negotiated and memorialized in a collective bargaining agreement,” he said, adding that there is no negotiated percentage in the current agreement that overrides the statutory framework.
He said municipal contracts cannot supersede state law and that surviving spouses and dependents will continue to receive health coverage, but contributions must comply with statute unless lawfully modified. He also said the borough previously offered a sidebar agreement to reduce the percentage and remains in negotiations with the union.
In a written response shared with Daily Voice, the PBA accused the administrator of mischaracterizing the law and long-standing practice.
“We’re not asking the borough to re-invent the wheel,” the union said. “We are just asking them to do the right thing and honor the contract that has always been honored by previous elected officials. “Just honor the contract, that is all that we are asking.”

You would think she would have brushed up on the hot button topics, like Taiwan where she struggled to answer questions on the subject of Taiwan’s defense.
The Democrats here will come out raging and trying to defend her performance, because that is what they do. They cant acknowledge that one of theirs is weak.
If AOC is holding herself out as Presidential material she should at least be able to answer questions about world wide security issues, whether Ukraine or Taiwan or wherever.

I just saw an article on polling that has Kamala Harris in the current led for the 2028 Democratic Presidental nomination. Newsom is in 2nd place with the other usual suspects trailing further back. How can this be? The top two just don’t appear to be electable outside of California. What gives? Yes, I realize we are pretty far away from the election, but this gives you a snapshot of the frame of mind of the current Democratic Party.

Chad: I saw that too and do not understand it. I just don’t see how anyone can say with a straight face can say Harris will make a good president. She was awful as VP, that was her dry run, not to mention when she ran for President herself in 2020 and her campaign imploded in 3 weeks.The quality of politicians in both parties have dropped to an all time low in my opinion. But, Harris, Newsom and AOC as serious Presidenteial contenders is shocking to me.
