From HousingWire:
Homeowner expectations and appraisal values divided as gap widens
The gap between appraisal and owner estimates widened for first time in six months, Quicken Loans said in its latest monthly Home Price Perception Index and Home Value Index for February.
However, the rise is still small, and the HPPI is still at a healthy level.
“While it is always disappointing for homeowners to learn they don’t have quite the home equity they expected, the national HPPI is still within a normal range,” said Quicken Loans Chief Economist Bob Walters. “In an ever-changing real estate market, home values fluctuate and these changes are most quickly realized by appraisers who are evaluating local sales every single day.”
Homeowners’ estimates of their homes’ value exceeded appraiser estimates by an average of 1.99% in February, according the national HPPI.
…
“Home prices continue their long march back from the big price drops experienced in the financial crash. As more and more Americans gain equity, this increases the number of homeowners who are financially able to sell their home and buy another one. We’re seeing the benefits of this virtuous cycle in rising home prices, which is also being greatly aided by historically low mortgage rates,” he added.

Maybe people are coming to the realization that nominating a lying, scheming, willing victim of spousal abuse (for the sake of career advancement) might not be the best thing…
Most of what’s been attributed to Clinton over the years as political tone-deafness is really her inability to keep her nasty, dissociative personality from bubbling to the surface. It is as easy for her to tell a lie as it is to tell the truth, and the “bailout” whopper she try to lay on Bernie Sunday night blew up in her face.
Now, as the pressure on Hillary ratchets up, she will begin to crack. She cracked vs. O, and I suspect she’ll implode vs. Bernie, as the guy (love him or hate him) has integrity and has become sufficiently annoyed with her to not tolerate her dissembling.

Rubio failed to pick up a single delegate in Mississippi and Michigan on Tuesday, placing dead last with single digits in both states and disappointing the elite Republicans who rallied to his side as a way to block Trump from winning the nomination.
He was placing a distant third in Idaho.
Both parties are completely out of touch with who average people will vote for. They’ve continued to nominate douchebags that nobody likes. For once it’s different, and they’re throwing fits.

4. that is a very astute analysis…
2 – Not surprising that a liberal democrat would find it humorous to insult someone’s spiritual beliefs.
It’s nice to see an acknowledgment by voters that Hillary has sold out the middle class just as frequently as the establishment republicans. That’s refreshing to see. She can still count on the special interests and the ignorant vote but she’s not winning any new votes. That’s not a good indicator for her electability.
Trump vs Bernie will be the election to end all elections.
Unfortunately, literally.

Possibly, but I don’t think it’s that simple. If Trump wins the nomination outright, which could be locked up next week, the only recourse for entrenched interests will be to back Hillary. That looks to be underway already.
the only recourse for entrenched interests will be to back Hillary. That looks to be underway already.
Perhaps finally democrats will realize their candidates are bought by big business and special interests as well.
Or not.
That is already happening. Independents and middle class democrats are not rallying for her. They know she will turn her back on them as soon as she’s in office the way she and her husband always have.
With the collapse Rubio and any chances of a plausible non-Trump candidate we’re seeing the deep pocketed interests changing strategy. They’ll buy the Clinton platform(it’s always for sale) and try to form a new consensus.
It’s going to take a lot of media help to try to make her palatable for anyone but her special interest blocks but they have few choices left.
I’m going with or not.
Although I bought in Essex County in 1987 and again in 1993…Passaic county was considered the “cheaper alternative”….I guess no more?
“Passaic County taxes are already the highest of the 21 counties in New Jersey. According to data compiled by the state Department of Community Affairs, Passaic County residents, paid, on average, $2,304 in county taxes in 2015. Essex County was second, at $2,001 per capita, the report shows.
The tax bite in Passaic County was nearly double that of neighboring counties of Bergen, at an average $1,185 and Morris, at $1,161.”

Grim,
Indeed..this race will be historic. Sanders big win just reaffirms that the traditional, government owned, narrative pushing media has lost much ground with American public. The pulse of American middle class is felt in blogs like this. Corporate and government “positive” number pushing falls by the wayside and truth is revealed. We don’t buy the scam or take any politician on their words anymore. It goes beyond party lines. The media boardrooms must be in shell shock this morning. I am guessing web advertising will be huge in next few months. Prepare to see Cankles face each time you open your email.
Agreed Mr Bystander “27” But Cankles De Vil does have a 1 billion dollar war chest at her disposal for the election, For the same reason Trump now leads GOP, Bernie’s protest base has come alive but may be a little to little to late, Who thinks those Dems will vote for the anti estab Trumpeter in the general ? provided he gets the 1237 Tuesday may be the teller
This election more than ever is becoming a social media driven event and less driven by the political machine. Where in the past you could count on advertising, tele/postal marketing (outsourced by grim of course) and union/newspaper/religious backing, the machine(s) no longer have that option. Like this group here, there are thousands of splinter groups. Until the machine figures out a way to hi jack grim (for a fee of course) and take over this board you can have outsiders suddenly pull off a trump.

now back to real estate. and home owner expectations… Of the several open houses I have seen the last few weeks, I still get the same shtick of 1. This is the best school system in nj 2. Act quickly (don’t think) as I have a couple of offers at asking. 3. buy now get priced out.
I would actually be more willing to work with a realtor if he told 1. Im seeing a lot of homes from boomers looking to downsize. 2. They are desperate to get out as their time is limited on this earth, make me an offer, and between me and the chickens others have offered 20%below asking 3. This is whats wrong with the place -busy road, poor site location etc, I would take another 5% off for these troubles.
With that kind of work I be happy to tip him $3k on a $175k reduction in price. Has no one thought of this model?

Bernie need just keep hammering the same message. In 2020, when everyone witnesses the train wreck for all except the rich that Hillary will have been, a less Jewish and less New York Yankee candidate will arise with slightly less liberal aspirations and will blow out all of the Rs and Ds. Only one place outside of California or New York made the cut on a Business Insider list of the 25 most expensive ZIP codes in the United States.
There were 17 in California, 7 in New York and one in New Jersey: The most northeastern corner of New Jersey, to be exact.
Alpine, of Bergen County, with ZIP code 07620 was No. 21 on the list. The median sale prices for homes there is $2.3 million. It edged out a handful of California towns and trailed the Battery Park City neighborhood in lower Manhattan.

Where are you getting that, HuffPo?
The democratic primary is fake. It’s controlled by the superdelegates who make their decisions behind the scenes. Paying attention to the delegate count is pointless but the demographics of who each person is getting interesting, and it should be scaring Democrats. Hillary isn’t attracting anyone new and is only carrying her special blocks.
And what makes you think that Rubio’s delegates would all have gone to Cruz? Rubio is toast and may fold before the primary in FL if he wants to preserve his political life.
Fab…
If awesome is the status quo, then indeed, you are correct.
Ironic how the “Democratic” party’s nomination process is anything but…democratic
Not ironic at all. We are all sheep. Only a really stupid person would name their party of idiots what it really is.
We are one of three states to be on that list. Pretty exclusive if you ask me. 47 other states don’t even have one zip code on the list.
The list also backs up my previous points about money pretty much being concentrated in cali and nyc. Southern conn, ny suburbs around nyc, and north jersey are all wealthy areas. Saying otherwise is just lying to yourself.
People love to act like nj is dying and losing wealth, if so, show me how? The stats don’t lie. Manufacturing jobs were never jobs that led to wealth, so why do people associate the loss of nj manufacturing as the end of nj wealth? Nj is highly educated and there will always be a demand for these type of workers. The nj citizens with no education or employable skills can leave, they have no impact on the wealth of the state, just increase the need for taxes to take care of them in such a high cost of living state.

Queens man found with AK-47 assault rifle, 17,000 rounds of ammunition
A Queens man was found with a cache of weapons that included an AK-47 assault rifle and 17,000 rounds of ammunition after police learned he ordered a fake NYPD police ID online, police said.
Lee Berman, 43, was arrested Tuesday morning when police discovered the arsenal in a safe in his home at 1800 Shorefront Parkway in Far Rockaway.
The Internal Affairs Bureau’s police impersonation unit launched the investigation based on a tip that he ordered forged NYPD identification cards over the Internet. After intercepting the package, they executed a search warrant at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Berman refused to unlock the safe, so an emergency services unit forced it open. They discovered an AK 47, eight handguns, five shotguns, two hunting rifles and six flare guns, along with a pistol version of an AR15 that was found to be stolen from Pennsylvania. Also recovered was a fake NYPD shield and four forged police identification cards.
Berman was charged with various felonies including criminal impersonation of a police officer, possession of forged instruments, and weapons and narcotics offenses, and numerous misdemeanors.

“The firm compiled a list of the 25 highest-paying jobs in America based on job and company reviews from the beginning of 2015 until January of this year, and physicians topped the list. One thing that is quickly apparent is the more skills a role requires, the better chance it has at commanding a higher salary. “This report reinforces that high pay continues to be tied to in-demand skills, higher education, and working in jobs that are protected from competition or automation,” said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor’s chief economist. “This is why we see several jobs within the technology and health-care industries.””

“Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant, widespread H-1B abuse and ending outrageous practices such as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end forever the use of the H-1B as a cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire American workers first for every visa and immigration program. No exceptions.”

Drug smuggling (jj Edition):
BERLIN – A 24-year-old Colombian woman was arrested at Frankfurt airport after she was found to be carrying 1 kg (2.2 pounds) of cocaine inside her breasts, German customs officials said on Wednesday.
Airport officials became suspicious after they found fresh operation scars below the woman’s breasts during a search on Feb. 24 and she complained of severe pain.
The woman admitted to carrying drugs, which had been inserted into her body during a hastily arranged operation.
She was sent to a local hospital where doctors removed two 500-gram lumps of cocaine wrapped in plastic from each of her breasts.
The drugs have a market value of 200,000 euros ($220,000) and were destined for Spain, a customs spokesman said.
“This is the first case in Germany in which drugs have been smuggled in this fashion,” said spokesman Hans-Juergen Schmidt.
Customs agents were shocked by what they said was the amateurish surgery. Schmidt said it showed how drugs smugglers “are completely indifferent to human life and the life-threatening conditions of their drug carriers.”
The woman, who said she has three children in Colombia where she worked in agriculture, will be charged with drug trafficking and faces jail time.
Pumpkin, you are highly misinformed if you think manufacturing does not lead to wealth. China has more billionaires then in the US now and its not from pushing paper around like you do all day. With no manufacturing in NJ you are loosing out on a lot of specialty IT, R&D, engineering and other fields which support the manufacturing. Yes we throw up some science labs in Manhattan and say science is making a come back in NYC. I’ll tell you it’s just for show. The real science is in Boston (with manufacturing) and NC. And those R&D science jobs, lead to jobs in Quality, Production, logistics, environmental, accounting, automation, technology, procurement. I could go on and on. Here is the real clear breakdown. I think the GOP rules are that you hold on to delagates won even if you drop out. In most cases if someone drops out they will rally behind another and effectivle pledge their delegates to them. Or more likely, its like Ben Carson, who has 8 delegates, which is too small a number to make a difference. I think its in the GOPs interest to get Rubio as many delegates as possible to get control of the race.
