State CPAs take dim view of economic future
New Jersey’s accountants do not have a favorable outlook on the state’s economy.
In a survey of 786 CPAs in the state conducted by the New Jersey Society of CPAs, 31 percent believe the state’s economy will get significantly worse under Gov. Phil Murphy, while 44 percent said it will get “marginally worse.”
Just 14 percent said the economy will improve.
Overall, nearly 55 percent of the respondents assessed the state’s current economy at “fair,” compared to 28 percent who said it is “good,” and 17 percent who said it’s “poor.” Only 1 percent rated the current economy as “excellent.”

Property taxes rank highest in the nation—a negative made even worse with the new tax law limiting how much of such tax payments is deductible. To top it off, with the worst ranking for fiscal soundness in the U.S., New Jersey’s tax picture is unlikely to improve soon.

Houses in flood zone being sold to outsiders within days of going on market in south Bergen. A house right next to passaic river in Rutherford sold for 850k. So either there is real demand or people buying in a hurry..

Murphy spent nearly $13,000 to create an office for his wife, who doesn’t hold any political office. It’s nice to have a bottomless pit of income off the backs of the producers. Leftist looters love him as it gives them hope that they can mooch, too!

As an old Hudson County escapee, years a ago I got hooked into the old NJ Network (NJ Public TV – killed by Christie) now know as NJTV on “Reporter’s Roundtable”.
Is an organized McLaughlin group for NJ politics reporters. Highly recommended to anyone.
Two things stand out. First, Sweeney hate Murphy for stepping in his path to the governorship and buying his way in, as such Sweeney is going to make Murphy pay for it for the next 4-8 yrs.
Second, Sweeney has his own big plans. The ones done to date were planned and executed well. The pension reform and Camden City/County Police overhaul done with Christie.
In the last episode, a reporter mentioned that Sweeney plans to announce something big as he has a committee of big ideas people that he’s working with, including speculation of force mandatory regionalization and the big one, which goes to the issue of why people pay a lot of property taxes, pay premium for certain towns and results in NJ being one of the most segregated states – local schools, attendance of which is based on local residence. The big one mentioned is – county based school systems that include everything from pre-k, k-12, afterschool care, community college, in short the works.
The opinions of the reporters is that Sweeney (more a centrist) has his own agenda and is going to go toe to toe with Murphy all the way.
So cheer up, things might end up better than you think, but your kids will attend school (to your uppity rac!st horror of many here) with a brotha.
