From HousingWire:
California enacts statewide rent control
During a ceremony Tuesday at a senior citizen center in Oakland, California, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a statewide law that controls how much landlords can charge for rent. Starting in 2020, the law caps annual rent increases to 5% plus inflation.
The governor called Assembly Bill 1482 the “nation’s strongest statewide renter protections.”
With Newsom’s signature, California became the second state in the nation to pass a rent cap. Oregon passed a similar law in March.
In addition to controlling rent increases, the California law requires landlords to have “just cause,” such as failure to pay rent, before terminating a lease. That will prevent property owners from evicting tenants to rehab units and boost rents.
…
The California Rental Housing Association, representing more than 22,000 rental property owners, issued a statement in opposition to the rent-cap law.
“It is unfortunate that political expediency won over a comprehensive housing solution that will actually move the state closer to the Governor’s goal of creating 3.5 million new housing units,” the statement said.
The new law was also opposed by the National Multifamily Housing Council, National Apartment Association, Mortgage Bankers Association, California Mortgage Bankers Association, and other housing and mortgage industry groups.
When the new law goes into effect in January it will roll back any rent increases that occurred after March that are above the allowed caps. But no-fault evictions that happen in that time cannot be rolled back, which prompted some landlords to evict low-paying tenants so they could raise rents on their units, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Good Morning New Jersey
Everything you need to know about China
We’re strongly dissatisfied and oppose Adam Silver’s claim to support Morey’s right to freedom of expression,” the statement read. “We believe that any remarks that challenge national sovereignty and social stability are not within the scope of freedom of speech.”
Let’s have an honest discussion about dictatorships and totalitarian ideologies..
This gamer’s punishment over Hong Kong protest shows China’s sway over U.S. companies
The competitive professional esports player known as “Blitzchung” had just won a game in a tournament for the video game Hearthstone, and went on a Taiwanese broadcast to do a post-match interview.
He appeared on the screen in the gas mask and goggles typical of demonstrators in Hong Kong, who wear gear to protect themselves from tear gas and shield their identities from the government.
“Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our age!” he yelled in Mandarin, as the two interviewers ducked down to hide their faces from the camera and avoid being associated with his political statement.
It was a costly bit of protest.
Blitzchung, whose real name is Ng Wai Chung, was supposed to collect $10,000 in award money for his participation in the Hearthstone Grandmasters competition. Instead, Blizzard Entertainment, the unit of Santa Monica-based gaming giant Activision Blizzard that runs the global competition, kicked him out of the tournament, revoked his prize winnings and banned him from Hearthstone esports for a year, all for expressing support for the pro-democracy protests currently roiling Hong Kong.
…
“Blizzard shows it is willing to humiliate itself to please the Chinese Communist Party. No American company should censor calls for freedom to make a quick buck,” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) tweeted.
Chi,
Funny, I was going to post a similar topic but my take is a bit different. We will find out about corporate America. NBA has more viewers in China than US so it is a major revenue stream. We want to believe our companies support freedom of speech but will they put money where mouth is? Morey was already forced at apologize. If Silver bends then you know that Chinese consumer has much of corp America by balls, simply due to sheer size.
esports lol
Think about this….if the kid came on in female garb and makeup to support the T community and China had a hissy fit do you believe the company response would have been the same….suspended his win, keeping his winnings, and banning him for a year?
“will they put money where mouth is?”
Nope. The business comes before democracy.
What’s everyone’s take on Trump’s defiance? Does he think he is above the law? Dumb question. Of course he does.
If the shoe was on the other foot (had the Kenyan pulled this), oh my!
China has a lot of companies by the balls. Way back 20 years ago in the Clinton years many CEOs were lobbying for China to get accepted into trade organizations, because being a “friend of China” (i.e. friend of the Communist Party) is a key way of getting permits to do business there, given the one party rule. Now those same companies have businesses they want to protect.
Also, the Chicoms are insecure bullies. They cannot handle the slightest affront to their power, and their online propragandists demand total obedience and will try to crush anyone who says anything that they claim disrespects the nation.
Chicoms just had a big parade showing off their big phallic missiles, like all the bad governments of the last century did (and like Trump wished he could do too). Online, a lot of people were talking eagerly about how few minutes it would take for these missiles to hit NYC. The government has created this belief that it’s the fault of the foreign countries that China was held back from its rightful place above all others, and that they were “humiliated” by foreign powers for centuries, and that Mao and the Communist Party were the ones that allowed China to “stand up” against the rest of the world who want to hold them back. Many Chinese celebrated 9/11 for “teaching a lesson” to bully America. Chinese culturally are obsessed by relative status and that includes national status.
They are a real threat to US security and there are a lot of people in the US who are more aligned with China than the US, including some nominal US citizens.
Meanwhile, Southpark got banned and the writers totally don’t give a crap. Here’s what they wrote.
On Twitter, the show’s writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone issued an “official apology to China”.
“Like the NBA [National Basketball Association], we welcome the Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts,” it said.
“We too love money more than freedom and democracy. Xi doesn’t look just like Winnie the Pooh at all.
“Long live the Great Communist Party of China! May this autumn’s sorghum [a cereal crop harvest be bountiful! We good now China?”
Frightening to see Trump’s ignorance and arrogance.
I think this will end with his resignation.
He certainly has a lot to atone for….
Well, stay tuned tonight for South Park 300th show.
They are known to do the shows on the fly in their own studio computers (no shipping out to animators in South Korea like other shows) They adjusted their show within 12 hours after Trump won in 2016.
Turd – Misleading conduct can be difficult to prove. Trump will mislead until the cows come home.
They will need to find and create articles of impeachment for several charges and then vote to pass them. For Clinton it was 4 articles that the house voted on and they then voted to pass to charge Clinton with only perjury and obstruction of justice, and then matter was sent to the U.S. Senate for trial in which Ken Starr could not prove it and it was tossed.
For Nixon it was three charges and then he resigned.
Look for something similar this time since well History Rhymes and well the rich and powerful rarely go to prison.
He will never resign. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him dangle the military in front of congress next. Like a third world dictator.
I’ve really never seen anything like him. His entire thought pattern seems to be, if you are willing to make believe you like me, then I won’t make fun of you. His only negotiating skills are that of a bully. He even bullies the Fed. And his economic policy is ludicrous. Now he is obstructing everything he possibly can which is making him look guilty. I read that even many in his own party are getting sick of his sh1t.
What’s everyone’s take on Trump’s defiance? Does he think he is above the law? Dumb question. Of course he does.
Ask the Clintons the same question.
Essex – Trump is even more defiant than Clinton and Nixon combined. He is out there with both guns blazing and he won’t go down until a vote is taken. File the article(s) of impeachment and take the vote…..
I read that even many in his own party are getting sick of his sh1t.
Akin to, “They say.” What did you read and where did you read it?
Here, I can play this game as well: “It’s been reported that a 3rd whistle blower has come forward with even more evidence!” Call CNN and MSNBC and let them know. The media is doing their jobs because we’re talking about yet another nothing story.
The disgust and repugnance by the left is sickening.
Turd – The checks and balances are working as designed by the founders of our country, any talk of the dangling the military is beyond the pale. Anyone pushing that kind of nonsense does not know our military. Hillary’s tweet on Oct 4th.
What is really wrong is leaders on the left “Hillary Clinton” quoting a former politician and stocking the flames by saying we should abandon the constitution if this impeachment fails.
“If the impeachment provision in the Constitution of the United States will not reach the offenses charged here, then perhaps that 18th-century Constitution should be abandoned to a 20th-century paper shredder!” —Rep. Barbara Jordan, 1974
Impeachment will fail if they cannot prove a crime, then it’s working as designed.
Pelosi, bring it to a vote now! NOW! If they’re so confident they got him, why are they waiting?
I am responding here instead of to No One, who has more insight into China than almost anyone you will come across.
By: I agree with your point, and further, I think this episode is so important for our millennials in the midst of being inculcated with leftist garbage. Whether it is the NBA or eSports, these anecdotes really create a palpable view into that country for young Americans. My son is 12, and I was able to sit and talk with him about the implications of these events. He was interested.
China is just reacting in a “business as usual” way. They have no appreciation for the fact that they just pierces the pop-culture bubble in the U.S., and the previously uninterested are going to be galvanized to pay -at least- minimal attention. It is going to become trendy to support the protesters in HK, and China’s behavior is on display in its wretched excess.
This set of incidents is really good for Trump.

I’ve hated Daryl Morey for a long time. He’s an awful GM and thinks that the best way to win is have one player hog the ball and chuck up more shots than we’ve ever seen. Then he has the gall to go on ESPN and proclaim him as the best scorer ever.
But this one takes the cake…he’s the GM of the friggin Houston Rockets. Their bread has been buttered by China ever since they drafted Yao Ming. Is he that friggin dumb?
The reality is China is an extremely oppressive regime and everyone was fine ignoring it as long as they have access to their ridiculous cheap labor and lack of environmental regulations. Now, they are so addicted to the cash flow that they don’t want to have any morals.
The NBA has really shown how hypocritical they are. The players and the league itself have marketed themselves as the league that hates Trump and is for every woke cause. In the meantime, they are now all refusing to even say a thing about China. At this point, they should just shut up and admit they are a business and not some political platform because they have no lost all credibility.
No. The ignorance on the right of a potus who obstructs and feels he is above the law in ever situation has nothing to do with the left or the main stream media.
Here’s my unbiased take.
Before even becoming president, he 100% LIED about revealing his tax forms, so the precedent was set.
He spent more than Obama did on his corporate gift to US companies when the country wasn’t even in recession and was experiencing pretty decent growth. The country was reeling of the financial sh1thole Wall Street got us into when Obama spent his porkulous. Of course, the majority of the money Trump gifted corporations went to buy back shares which juiced company earnings. Very little was used to expand payrolls or hire. This is shown by the lack of wage growth. The effects of the debt to corporate gift has now worn off and I fear, he will pull the same effin’ stunt again to try to win the 2020 election.
His lack of couth and complete absence of tact, is celebrated by his supporters since their lack of sophistication mirrors his. He manufacturers crisis where none exist (the wall, Obamacare) because it’s always fun to scapegoat.
His speeches are a list of people who are good, because they like him. Or people who are bad, because they don’t like him.
And then there is the lies, after lies, after lies, which he sells to his supporters as fake news.
Read the 13 pages of lies here and tell me this is all fake news.
https://www.politifact.com/personalities/donald-trump/statements/byruling/false/
Go ahead. Because if you somehow deny it, you are simply a fool.
I can accept that Obama was not well-liked by the left as he really didn’t do that much good (outside of Obamacare) in his 8 years. But Trump. He is hell bent on wrecking the country through stupidity.
what fake news calls defiance a lot of others call constitutional powers. That darn constitution getting in the way of the lefties scheming again.
He should have stopped entertaining the hoaxes much sooner starting with the Russia collusion hoax. It sapped a lot of momentum from his administration. Of course this hoax is just as likely to backfire and give him a boost in the next election.
This Ukraine nonsense is their hail mary. They were planning on using the Mueller nonsense leading up to the election. That testimony was a complete disaster for them and it left them scrambling. The problem is, the public is exhausted from their constant fake accusations that even if anything ever had credit…it’s too late, they lost all credibility. Nobody ever told them about the boy that cried wolf.
Fake news made fools of the trump opposition for almost three years now and I guess some people never learn. They decided to triple down.
Stu: I’ve worked with execs with this personality. Without tossing out various terms to distract, these people need chaos around them. It calms them. It is especially calming if this person knows he is the root cause of the chaos.
I worked in a department where the guy in charge made multiple teams duplicate work and also work in conflict. In the midst of the activity, I never saw the guy so genuinely full of joy.

Libturd,
Yes, he’s hellbent on doing it “his” way. But by accident, something he’s doing things very right.
1- We would not have “The China” talk going on right now if it was not for tariffs.
2- The Syrian Kurds thing, everyone was thinking about it, get out of that desert full of camel molesters.
3- The Border issue. Central America’s social structure has more in common with Alabama and Mississipi’s structure, all have the same result of dogma and tradition based backwardness.
“I can accept that Obama was not well-liked by the left as he really didn’t do that much good (outside of Obamacare) in his 8 years. But Trump. He is hell bent on wrecking the country through stupidity.”
Juice. How can impeachment work if the president continues to essentially sequester the investigation. This isn’t some made up dossier.
As president, regardless of Biden’s son’s idiotic involvement in whatever pay to play scam he is probably guilty of (who I must remind dumb Republican’s is not who is being impeached here), he cannot dangle US aid like a carrot in exchange for information to implicate an election opponent. Sorry dumbasses, but you can’t keep giving Trump passes.
This is a president who makes fun of the disabled. Makes jokes about the Special Olympics and claims he has infinite wisdom. He also like to grab women by their puzzies in case you forgot. And they have an issue with Obama?
10:34 checks and balances “hillbilly” checks and balances.
We didn’t fight a revolution to elect a retarded King as POTUS.
He also like to grab women by their puzzies in case you forgot. And they have an issue with Obama?
And Oblama is a p.ussy.
Obama was/is a statesman compared to the current traitor in chief.
Love ya Lib, but here goes….
“What’s everyone’s take on Trump’s defiance? Does he think he is above the law? Dumb question. Of course he does.”
No defiance. There have been three impeachments in history. All three – Johnson, Nixon, and Clinton – started with the vote of the House to open an impeachment inquiry. Pelosi refuses to open one. Without an impeachment inquiry the Administration cannot review evidence, question witnesses, or otherwise post a defense. Any citizen – you in Montclair Municipal Court or any Administration official in front of Congress – would have to be an absolute fool to enter a judiciary proceeding under those conditions. You want cooperation, vote on the impeachment inquiry and let’s get it on. Bring on the witnesses and evidence and let’s slug it out.
“As president…he cannot dangle US aid like a carrot in exchange for information to implicate an election opponent.”
Two issues with this…One, no one has demonstrated that happened. Actually read what the transcript says, it’s simply not there. Two, even if he did quid pro quo aid on investigating the actions of a former sitting Vice President while that VP was in office there is no clarity whatsoever that is a crime. Let alone an impeachable offense.
I love these people attributing motive where none is shown and then on the basis of that fabricated motive becoming instantaneous armchair constitutional scholars and talking out of their ass about what is ‘legal’ and not.
11:00 nonsense. He’s rotten to the core.
Absolutely and positively harmful to the US, the foreign and domestic policies and the future of our once “great” nation. The courts will eventually decide if his deceptions are legal.
Obama was/is a statesman compared to the current traitor in chief.
A beta male will tread lightly and avoid challenges. He was an unremarkable, mediocre man who avoided risk and confrontation. He talked and nothing more. The world needs alpha males with a “f.uck you” attitude, not those who sit at home trying to find themselves, attend rallies wearing p.ussy hates or those who can’t decide if they’re a buck or a doe.
Left,
As usual, we’ll wait for the courts to allow us to get to the truth. Meanwhile, Trump continues to damage his delicate ego the longer this draws out.
Appreciate your opinion on this. Don’t agree with it. As to what is legal or not? The politicized courts will decide.
Regardless, the man who was supposed to drain the swamp appears awfully hellbent on stopping transparency.
Agree, the world needs alphas. Alphas with brains in their heads, though. The fact that you chose males speaks volumes to the misogyny that Trump too, intentionally uses to rile up his ignorant supporters. Nothing personal Gary. I’m sure you treat your lovely wife with respect. And I’m sure she is happy to play second fiddle to males. Much like a Muslim woman in a burka does.
This is the question Ed. You are a seargent on front lines of battlefield..you following General Trump orders or General Obama? 10/10 times I take Blammy. Rash, abrasive and petulant decision-making would be the end of your division. He is running presdiency this way
So for sh1ts and giggles…
ExxonMobil is the fourth largest oil company in the world and the largest independent as the top three are state owned entities. It is the eighth largest company in the owrld based on revenue.
Burisma [Hunter Biden’s company] doesn’t even rank, being only the second largestoil company in Ukraine.
The Board of ExxonMobil has ten members, all very distinuguished and experienced. They are or have been CEOs or Directors of CVS, JPMorgan, Chubb, JNJ, Marriott, Walmart, PepsiCo, American Express, IBM, Caterpillar, MetLife, Merck, Nestle, Lowes, P&G, Wellpoint.
The Board of Burisma is run by a former Merril Lynch banker for Eastern Europe. The only notable Board member is the former President of Poland, assuming one does not include the local Cyprus attorney, the local business consultant, or the CEO’s sister. Devon Archer (John Kerry’s son in law) was on the Board with Biden prior to Archer’s conviction in a suit for securities fraud brought by SDNY; Kerry withdraw his relationships with Archer upon him joining the Burisma Board so avoided the issues there and the SDNY.
So, the money question…..What did the distinguished members of the Board of the largest independent oil company and eighth largest company in the world earn? And what did the son of the sitting VP, who was just out of his fifth rehab trip with no industry or country experience earn on his small smaller company’s Board?
Nine of ten distinguished ExxonMobil Directors were paid less than $331k annually.
Hunter Biden was paid $600k annually.
And that internet photo bouncing around of Biden playing a round? One member of the foursome was his son. The other was Archer. Yes, Biden as VP golfing with two Board members of a foreign oil company in a region where Biden himself was active for the Administration while his son sits on the Board and collects $600k annually, twice the amount of US Directors with exhaustive resumes and experience for a much larger company.
And Trump is being investigated? The crime is all around the Bidens.
Below is ExxonMobil Board data. Scroll down for comp, up for resumes.

Libturd,
Exactly – being strong in favor of your intellectual principles is what leadership is about.
Trump’s “strength” is just to attack everyone brainlessly, flipping his nonexistent principles based on what makes him feel good about himself for a split-second.
He’s clearly a very insecure person, as all bullies are.
I never believed that Trump was just an act in the campaign and that he’d magically turn presidential after being elected. If anything, he’s become worse.
Trump has plenty of enemies in the Republican party who would turn on him rather than go down with his ship. He has certainly done very little for them, and would throw them under the bus to help himself, and everyone knows it.
I could go on and express my disgust for the policies of Sanders, Warren, etc., after all they want government to oppress and rob me all while calling it a moral virtue. But I do have to give them credit, as human beings they evolved to be able to think in some logical order, even if it’s evil, at least they make some effort at thinking and acting like a civilized person, able to control their emotions and impulses.
They are all terrible in their own ways.
On the most basic level there is a problem when the president’s spokespeople need to explain when the president is or isn’t joking about something. A responsible chief executive would not engage in such dialogue.
There is no requirement for a vote to start an impeachment inquiry. Most likely the administration’s requirement of this will only result in moving the goalpost after the vote would be taken.
Asking a foreign power to aide in the investigation of a political opponent is clearly wrong and contrary to proper conduct. This action is unprecedented because it is so clearly inappropriate and compromises the integrity of the office.
I am not asking anyone to agree that the president should be removed from office solely on what is currently known about this matter. What I do not understand is why anyone would not believe that a full investigation is in order.
“11:00 nonsense. He’s rotten to the core. Absolutely and positively harmful to the US, the foreign and domestic policies and the future of our once “great” nation. The courts will eventually decide if his deceptions are legal.”
If you believe what you wrote then we are in agreement.
I find Trump distasteful on too many levels to count. And, yes, the judicial system as delineated in the Constitution should resolve this matter.
I’ll take the shitshow circus any day of the week if he develops border security, tariffs on China, and IP protection

Shouldn’t there be a vote to start the inquiry? That is the entire issue. I could be wrong, but isn’t the obfuscation due to the fact that the Executive Office wants the members of the House to stand up and be counted. Show some political courage as it were. Pretty simple. Both sides bluffing, who blinks?

30: there is no moral argument here…… everyone dirty
You are a seargent on front lines of battlefield..you following General Trump orders or General Obama? 10/10 times I take Blammy.
General Oblama’s orders would either be: bow to the enemy, try to negotiate with them or retreat.
On the moral issue…there should be a law that deals with the relatives of government officials and their involvement with businesses that could seek influence.
I keep hearing Obama as if he is the reason why Trump is President.
It was Hillary or Trump folks. I still believe we chose the better one, especially now with her tweeting about ripping up the constitution.
Many of today’s events in Russia, Ukraine, Syria and China are also directly tied to her tenure as Secretary of State and her campaign to be president.
I don’t want anther boomer as president, their time is up, head off to shuffleboard and canasta already..
Left. For the record, I think Biden and Trump both should hang! But you know that already.
And Juice. Yes, the Boomer generation was a lot like the Obama term. Both were given every opportunity to do really great things for their country. There was no opposition. Both squandered their opportunities for selfish gains.
And Biden lost my confidence when he lied about being shot down over Afghanistan when his helicopter ran into engine trouble.
Biden and Trump probably should have run together. Two blabbering fools who always feel the need to lie to try to make everyone happy.
30:
“There is no requirement for a vote to start an impeachment inquiry.”
Agreed. Every other impeachment though, regardless of party, began with an impeachment inquiry and it is what gives the Administration due process…access to witnesses and evidence. Pelosi is avoiding an inquiry vote on politics – Dems in districts Trump won would have to vote ‘no’ and Repubs would be pressured to hold the party line and vote ‘no’. Upshot is opening an impeachment inquiry would splinter Dems but consolidate Repubs in the House. So instead it’s just easier to paper the Administration with subpoenas from various committees and then complain bitterly when they, not unreasonably, oppose.
“Asking a foreign power to aide in the investigation of a political opponent is clearly wrong and contrary to proper conduct.”
The party line. The ‘ask’ was one head of state to another to investigate the actions of a former VP while he was sitting VP. Are we truly saying that investigating political malfeasance is set aside if the target thereafter runs for federal office?
“I am not asking anyone to agree that the president should be removed from office solely on what is currently known about this matter. What I do not understand is why anyone would not believe that a full investigation is in order.”
100% agreement. All it takes is one bang of Nancy’s gavel and we have an impeachment inquiry. Let’s do it.
11:23 you seemed focused on a very small sliver
Of the populous. You cannot see the forest for the trees.
If Obama were “white” you’d have celebrated his achievements.
True.
Off to my sisters to break the fast.
I smoked my own white fish which I picked up whole from Corrado’s for $5 a pound. The crooks at Seasons wanted $12 a pound for steaks. Of course steaks would have sucked for making whitefish salad as de-boning would have been impossible. I ended up with 1 pound of meat for the whitefish salad which made nearly 1 1/2 pounds once the sour cream veggies and lemon juice were added. Also ended up with 3 smoked fillets for snacking on instead of greasy sable.
Hardest part was not eating while preparing it all. It smelled so friggin’ awesome. Sundown can’t come soon enough.
And if anyone questions why I am fasting, it’s mainly so that I don’t feel like an idiot for not doing it in front of the rest of my family who will be equally as hungry come dinner. Believe me, a god has very little to do with it.

12:44 you quite literally are worshipping a guy, Trump, who claimed he had bone spurs to avoid any military service. Your argument is null and void. He is spineless on calls with foreign leaders and loyal allies die. Trump has literally no leadership abilities.
If Obama were “white” you’d have celebrated his achievements.
True.
Typical. Nothing left to say, nothing left to defend so let’s try the race card.
BRT,
Unfortunately this presidency will lead to none of those things. No single presidency could as our business community does not support those things. It would mean more restrictions, less revenue and higher labor costs in short term. Capitalism is short term focused now and won’t adjust to bigger picture unless forced.
1:27 no lie right!? I guess a guy moving through life on his own merits, Harvard educated, the honors and accolades mean nothing when you could have been born rich.
Born rich, lost millions on failed ventures ( unlike Romney) and an illegitimate election and sits “above the law” as President. Yeah white privilege .
I think History will show Trump did the right think re-Syria. The Turks have been asking for a while for a safe zone for Syrian refugees in northern Syria. They are currently caring for 3 million Syrian refugees in Turkey. It’s possible Trump was waiting for Europe to step up any pay up or help…Erdogan is quoted asking for more aid from the European union. He even went so far as to threaten to send all the refugees to western Europe if they did not.
Erdogan is now setting up the safe zone on his own. Kurds naturally are vehemently against any Turkish control of northern Syria. No one in the US who voted for Trump wants any part of a major operation in Northern Syria where we spend our money and military efforts to set up the safe zone. It’s not our business.
It was a lose/lose situation.

Did he BleachBit something? Create fake dossiers? Lie to a FISA court? Sell uranium to someone in exchange for a donation to a hidden slush fund?
lol, the most woke sporting news network ESPN forbids employees to even mention China politics now.

I don’t much “success” in Trump’s story.
But once he releases those taxes …. who knows..?
Maybe his latest “win” is selling out your Country to the Russians.
The electoral college helps flyover country. If you really wasn’t those mouth breathers making decisions for you – then you are waaaay dumber than I thought.
So you are saying “corruption” is fine. Pathetic.
Someone else was corrupt so I can do it has to be the weakest argument.
Eddie in all seriousness – find me 10 profitable successes in Trump’s past.

In case anyone’s curious I got a breeze out back right now that’s probably the best air i’ve Ever felt. Comes through a fertile plain emptying out by the Channel Islands. Just about the best feeling breeze that perfection just washes over you. Breathing this air is a pleasure. Good after a dozen years with two miles of the 180 in Jersey.
Essex – re: 10 profitable successes.
Aren’t you out by Hollyweird? That stupid apprentice show ran for 15 seasons.
The End Is Nigh (jj pharmacological Edition):
A man who said he grew breasts after taking a drug manufactured by pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson will receive $8 billion in punitive damages from the company, a Philadelphia jury ruled this week.
Nicholas Murray, now 26, claimed in his suit that he developed breasts after doctors prescribed him Risperdal off-label in 2003 once a psychologist diagnosed him with autism spectrum disorder.
Murray’s award is the largest to date among more than 13,000 lawsuits against the company — claiming that Risperdal caused a condition called gynecomastia in boys, involving enlargement of breast tissue, MarketWatch reported.
The mountain of suits generally allege that the company was aware of that specific risk, but understated it to doctors, according to the report.
Back in 2015, Murray won a $680,000 compensatory award over those same claims. A jury had awarded him $1.75 million, which a state appeals court later reduced.
“This jury, as have other juries in other litigations, once again imposed punitive damages on a corporation that valued profits over safety and profits over patients,” Murray’s lawyers, Tom Kline and Jason Itkin, said in a joint statement. “Johnson & Johnson and [subsidiary] Janssen chose billions over children.”
campaign, President Donald Trump made an aggressive promise on federal finances: He would eliminate the budget deficit within eight years. Now, three years into his presidency, the deficit is 68 percent higher than when he started.
Trump inherited a deficit of $585 billion when he took office in January 2017. That was 58 percent lower than the $1.4 trillion former President Barack Obama inherited in 2009 following the financial crisis, a number his administration slashed over two terms.
According to the latest Congressional Budget Office data released on Monday, the full-year deficit for 2019 is estimated to come in at $984 billion, just shy of the $1 trillion that many analysts were expecting. In 2018 the figure was $779 billion and in 2017 it was $665 billion.
They are real and they’re spectacular

J&J will pay out. Tagamet, an old anti-ulcer medication also caused male br3ast enlargement.
BUT, the reality is that all the new psychotropic medications out there for the last 30yrs are very good, but have a double edge. They are very prone to cause metabolic syndrome (weight gain, diabetes) and very fast driven cardiac events (massive global hypokenesis)
So take your choice for your schizophrenic/psychotic loved one. Old fashion sedatives like thorazine where they stare at the wall for 40 years, or new medication where they can have a (overweight/diabetic) life for 35 yrs and drop dead of massive heart failure over hours.
The End Is Nigh (GTFOOH Edition):
Greece sold debt offering less than 0% for the first time on Wednesday in the latest sign of how far investors will go in a hunt for returns amid a global slump in yields.
The Greek government issued €487.5 million ($535.31 million) of three-month debt at a yield of minus-0.02%. At a previous auction for bills with similar maturity on Aug. 7, the rate was 0.095%.
The move reflects a broader shift in European bond markets in recent years, with investors paying governments from Germany and Switzerland to Italy to hold their money as the European Central Bank cuts borrowing costs to bolster economic growth in the region. That also means investors are being forced to take on more risk to generate returns, with Greece long considered the final frontier.
The nation, which emerged in August 2018 from an eight-year international bailout program following a prolonged debt crisis, has been welcomed back into the bond market with strong demand for its debt. The falling borrowing costs in recent months are a sign that Greece is steadily becoming just another eurozone country in investors’ eyes, after years when its survival in the common currency was in doubt.

How many profitable businesses have been run by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders combined?
8:00 they at least have read and understand the mother’f’ing Constitution.
GOP is now O-2 on the MBA as President thing.
See above post re: trillion dollar run up.
They sure don’t act like it.

Riiiight. Here’s Trump on the Kurd’s:
help us with Normandy,” Trump said of the Kurds, who played a vital role in the US-led campaign against ISIS.
And when asked by reporters whether he felt the Syria retreat and treatment of the Kurds sent a poor message to other potential US allies, Trump said, “Alliances are very easy.”
Trump’s comments came hours after Turkey launched a military operation against the formerly US-backed Kurdish forces in Syria.
Visit Business Insider’s homepage for more stories.
They should reread the second amendment if they are all about being constitutionalists now.
I give Trump the win on Syria. If Hillary were in your kids would still be cannon fodder in the middle east.
Here he is today explaining again why he living up to his campaign promise so far he moved about 50 troops south (yes that is the extent of this so far) and the media is on a tear looking to find a civilian casualty with CNN on the ground there now.

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) 锟?The New York Jets head into the final day of the NFL draft with five picks and plenty of options.
But teammate Rueben Randle honored Cruz by doing his trademark celebration after he caught a TD pass in a win at Buffalo two weeks ago.
What to look for in Thursday’s final preseason games (all times EDT)
“(Leftwich) gave us several good years of service … a guy that was a franchise quarterback who embraced the challenge here,” Tomlin said. “I imagine Mike is of the same mindset.”
“Are they going to somebody else?” came the follow-up.
