An ominous list for sure. Pitman? Ugh. Why not Bridgeton or Vineland? Nothing in Hunterdon or Sussex? What about Hudson County? Passaic? Clifton is 20 minutes from everywhere.
Does Crawford still have flooding issues?
I wouldn’t read too much into the shit methodology here. I’m a sucker for list.
The Southwest portion of NJ is a very lonely and generic part of the state. It exists and that’s about it. See, VSG, every state has a portion of its “Mississippi” feel to it.
We’ve had a few layoffs in my firm lately and I have friends still looking. We also have a hiring freeze for fiscal year 2024.

Fast: Cumberland Co, is very rural. We drove through it some years ago, and it looked very depressed. Even the name gives it a Southern vibe.
Ten 409
National Guard now manning the NYC subways. Hmm… I guess defunding the police didn’t have the desired effect?
Fast: Even in the worst days of the 70/80s the National Guard was not deployed on the NYC subway system. Everyone back to the office!
FIL got his electrical work on the heart completed this week at UPenn. For those in the same situation, I would rate Hackensack Cardiac Unit up there as one of the best, but Dr. David Callans at UPenn might be the best cardiologist in the nation. The guy literally wrote the protocols on treatment for just about each ailment and has been rated as one of Americas top doctors for decades.
I bring this up because we had to literally fight to get him out of RWJ. The doctors at UPenn told us that the trend in NJ is they try their hardest to keep you within that system, and if that means sending you to a butcher at Newark, so be it. They’ll all try their hardest to keep you within the conglomerate. He also said that the regulations in NJ create too much red tape to accomplish the things they want to. A lot of the doctors that have offices in NJ have been operated in PA to get around this issue. I guess, for those in the know, medical tourism is going to be a state to state thing now.
But more importantly, what Dr. Callans at Upenn told us that most cardiologist will default and tell you everything is a plumbing issue. He said that most of the time, it’s actually electrical. Plumbing puts a band aid on the problem but doesn’t get at the root causes. But, to a hammer, everything looks like a nail. This is also why I rate Hackensack very high. Both UPenn/Hackensack have dedicated specialists within Cardiology to Pacemakers, Electrical Work, Plumbing. One doesn’t supersede the other and they work as a team on the treatment. So if you guys or any of your relatives have a heart issue and they insist it’s just a clog, I would get an opinion from either UPenn in Philly or Hackensack Meridian in Hackensack.
So the pacemaker was shocking him from his Vtach this weekend. That made the electrical work imperative. We were told, drive him straight to Philly to get him in the emergency room there. Apparently, checking him into UPenn at Princeton would have been less effective at getting him into the Philly UPenn cardiac unit. So again, don’t think because you go to a Hackensack Meridian Center outside of Hackensack that you will get fast tracked into the Cardiac Unit there. Better to show up on site.
Don’t know much about the heart stuff, but you are right about hospitals doing everything in their power to keep you in their network. Heck, we couldn’t even get St. Barnabas to give us the D’s cancer pathology unless we promised to do the treatment at Newark Beth Israel. What kind of bullshit was that? We then asked for a sample to get it biopsied someplace else and that too was an impossible order. Keep in mind, we had already done the tumor resection there and spent close to two weeks (if I recall correctly) in their PICU.
UPENN really is an amazing hospital. As is CHOP. We spent time at MSK, Hackensack and Morristown too. Hackensack had good treatment, but not the best customer service. Morristown was problematic. MSK is a friggin’ zoo. Good luck finding parking.
Was looking for an earlier post and found this one by accident. Made me chuckle.

I got married at the gazebo bayside at Lavallette. Instead of the traditional rice, we released a bunch of butterflies, why yes it was my wife’s idea. The seagulls swarmed that little pack of butterflies, just like I told my wife they would. It was our first “I told you so” as a married couple. Should have known then.
Trumps handlers have the coordinates and are zeroing in on their target-the laugh is a nice touch at the end.

Joe must go!
Peaking too much. I can smell the lag coming with affordability approaching a wall at 140 MPH. Slo joe needed the run later in the year to tout his ‘success’. If we start nose-diving in a month or two on top of the financial angst now reverberating throughout the land, he’ll have nothing at all to stand on. Saving democracy from mega maga muppets and bludgeoning your baby isn’t going to sell.
Tax cuts for the wealthy have long drawn support from conservative lawmakers and economists who argue that such measures will “trickle down” and eventually boost jobs and incomes for everyone else. But a new study from the London School of Economics says 50 years of such tax cuts have only helped one group — the rich.
The new paper, by David Hope of the London School of Economics and Julian Limberg of King’s College London, examines 18 developed countries — from Australia to the United States — over a 50-year period from 1965 to 2015. The study compared countries that passed tax cuts in a specific year, such as the U.S. in 1982 when President Ronald Reagan slashed taxes on the wealthy, with those that didn’t, and then examined their economic outcomes.
Per capita gross domestic product and unemployment rates were nearly identical after five years in countries that slashed taxes on the rich and in those that didn’t, the study found.

Maybe the two of you can get a room.
US salaries are falling. Employers say compensation is just ‘resetting’.
Should go good with inflation. Sleepy Joe hard at work.
Biden’s speech was excellent. Now let’s hear the Mango Fucktard string together a few thoughts.
Worst rebuttal ever. Is she trying to act or something?
This is completely unwatchable.
Didn’t watch SOTU but just turned on the trainwreck response. This makes Marco and his water bottle look professional.
All I can suggest is a soundtrack to go with it.
