The Farmington mega-mansion of rapper 50 Cent that has absolutely everything might now need one thing more – a buyer.
The infamous house built by investment swindler Benjamin J. Sisti and once owned by boxer Mike Tyson is reportedly for sale once again.
50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, has called Farmington home since he bought the 48,000-plus-square-foot palatial estate in September 2003 for $4.1 million. He reportedly has spent up to $6 million renovating the house, including adding a helicopter pad he used when traveling to and from New York City, as well as when flying in famous guests for full-throttle house parties.
Curt Clemens Sr., owner of Century 21 Clemens & Sons in Hartford, said he toured the house a few months ago after being contacted by representatives of the rapper who said he wanted to sell the property. But Clemens, who was the listing agent on the house when it was owned by Tyson, said Wednesday that he was notified a few weeks ago that another realty agency would be handling the sale.
Clemens said he does not know who that is; news of the rapper’s desire to sell was reported Wednesday on at least two entertainment websites. The asking price is unknown, and the listing is not posted in the Multiple Listing Service.
“I was surprised it hadn’t come on the market because we were expecting it,” Clemens said. “He’s put a lot into it, and it’s all very tasteful, except the stripper poles.”

Local real estate agents familiar with the property said it simply is too big and too expensive to sell quickly in this area, where homes priced at $3 million are rare. In fact, only two single-family properties in the region can compete with 50 Cent’s potential asking price – an $11.5 million horse farm on the market in Marlborough, and another just a few miles from 50 Cent’s house in Farmington listed at $6.9 million (an estate that has dropped its price twice, from an original starting point of about $13 million).
