From NJ101.5:
Will NJ’s foreclosure mess get cleared in 2017?
Looking at 2016 as a whole, New Jersey performed horribly in the area of foreclosures.
These in-limbo properties can have a drastic effect on the value of your home, and the situation could get even worse in 2017.
According to statistics released Thursday by ATTOM Data Solutions, an online real estate database, New Jersey posted the highest foreclosure rate last year at 1.86 percent. In total, 66,592 properties were in the foreclosure process, from default notices to bank repossessions. More than 27,000 began the process; 19,000 reached the final stage.
But it’s New Jersey’s other worst-in-the-nation statistic that indicates the pain isn’t ending anytime soon, according to ATTOM Senior Vice President Daren Blomquist.
“We do show the state has the biggest backlog of what we call legacy loans that are in foreclosure process that haven’t been dealt with,” Blomquist told New Jersey 101.5. “These are loans that originated back in 2004 to 2008 and are in foreclosure, but have been, for whatever reason, lingering in the foreclosure process, sometimes for years.”
Sixty-four percent of New Jersey’s loans in the foreclosure process originated in the ’04-’08 range, accounting for 32,279 filings.
Properties foreclosed in New Jersey in the fourth quarter of 2016 spent an average of nearly 1,400 days in the entire foreclosure process, according to ATTOM. That lengthy timeline is second only to Utah.According to Blomquist, New Jersey’s top foreclosure rate is the product of a “perfect storm of poor market conditions,” including economic issues in Atlantic City and foreclosures lingering from the effects of 2012’s Superstorm Sandy.
Good Morning New Jersey
ChiFi,
Love the Clot worthy video last night!
Things that I think about when I think:
When there is a video of a conservative being peed on, liberals call it a scandal.
When there is a video of a liberal being peed on, liberals call it art.
Because of course there is no long, well documented history of conservatives engaging in slut shaming.

CINCINNATI — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say officers in Cincinnati intercepted more than 50 pounds of methamphetamine that was concealed inside a statue of a snail.
Authorities say the package, which came from Mexico and was labeled “Mexican stone crafts,” contained a decorative snail statue that exhibited “interior anomalies” during an X-ray inspection on Dec. 30.
Customs officers drilled a hole into the statue and found 53 pounds of a white crystalline powder that tested positive for meth.
Richard Gillespie, CBP’s Cincinnati Port Director, says the agency’s officers excel at preventing dangerous packages from reaching innocent citizens.
The snail’s intended destination was Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Kim Guadagno is running for governor; announcement soon

“Hours into a confirmation hearing with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Tillerson compared China’s actions to those of Russia in Crimea, saying a failure to respond had allowed it to “keep pushing the envelope” in the South China Sea. “We’re going to have to send China a clear signal that first the island-building stops and second your access to those islands is also not going to be allowed.”
China has been acting within the limits of its sovereignty, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said in response. “Like the U.S., China has the right within its own territory to carry out normal activities,” he said at a regular briefing in Beijing.”
““This is the sort of off-the-cuff remark akin to a tweet that pours fuel on the fire and maybe makes things worse,” said Malcolm Davis, a senior analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute in Canberra. “Short of going to war with China, there is nothing the Americans can do.””

Considering where my foot will be at the time, that’s a very scary thought.
3b, read that last post and understand russia and china are not our friends. They are both scheming and strategizing on how to increase their power. This has happened throughout history, always people trying to take over the world. If trump was smart, he would make it clear that he is not friends with russia and has no intentions of becoming friends. Nothing good comes with trying to be friends with Putin, all it does is open up the doors for him to take advantage and screw you over when you least expect it.

Pumps I never said Russia was our friend. But we can’t fight with everybody. We have a better chance of having an arrangements with Russia than China which is a far bigger threat. Yet you remain out raged about Putin and Russia and silent on china
Russia essentially won the second world war for us.
Russia essentially won the second world war for us.
Or, did the Allies win the second world war for Russia?
This is not an attack on trump, or a defense the article’s main idea, but why is this news now?
For example, the birther movement. How long did we have to listen to that garbage? Why did nobody make a big deal out of that?
How about trump and all his wild claims? Like muslims cheering in jersey city. This has been going on for ages. Why is everyone finally realizing it now? That’s most important thing a history teacher can teach you, to understand there is always two sides to a story and the bias of the source must always be taken into account.

The Russians and Americans won the Second World War.
Yes, it really was combination of both. Depending on your bias, either side can romanticize that they were the sole reason for defeating germany.

Just want to add something. The propaganda machine has been alive since the beginning of society. People have always tried to influence and control the masses in their society. Look at both world wars, took a propaganda machine to get the united states involved in both.
I don’t know if it would have got him elected, but if trump just shut his mouth, stopped tweeting every thought, and stopped attacking every person that doesn’t like him, he would have no problem with the media or anyone. He creates this circus. Wish he understood that. He does this to himself. He makes people hate him.
Trump—the howard stern of politicians.
1:34 – Pumpkin, the “mainstream” media is an objective source of factual information?
http://freebeacon.com/issues/no-white-house-reporter-republican
Not a single member of the White House press corps is a registered Republican, according to survey results recently published by Politico.
Those results are buried in a story this week on President Barack Obama’s relationship with the press. An infographic posted in the story reveals that not a single one of the 72 members of the White House press corps surveyed by the Virginia-based trade publication identifies with the GOP.

DFENS,
Here are Glenn Greenwald’s last moments on this earth.

I’m sorry, I have terrible writing skills and sometimes have a hard time getting my point across.
My point was that all news, even the wsj and bloombergs of the world (they do a great job of trying to be as unbiased as possible), are a form of manipulation. That’s why it’s important to understand both sides of the story before you take a side. Of course, it’s not easy to keep an open mind, we are biased, the older you get the more biases we consume. You are going to be drawn to biases you agree with, it’s human nature. We are all guilty of it.
So my point was that this battle over public opinion has always been tainted with lies and biases, it’s up to us to figure it out. The article d-fens posted acted as if this wasn’t always the case, that we are in some crazy new world where false news/information is becoming the norm. I disagree, this has always been the norm, just people never realized it. They never had access to so many different sources of information, so now they are finally starting to figure out that all news is not true.
Hell, history is laden with false interpretations of events.

I read it, and the author is doing exactly what he is accusing everyone else of doing, making assumptions. I’m not saying it’s a bad article, but he assumes the dark state is coming out of nowhere to attack trump. That it somehow didn’t exists all these years since the cold war era, and I just don’t agree.

Look at this quote from the article. It’s pure bias assumptions. Who is trying to subvert the election? It’s done and over with. They are just doing their job now. The democrats were hacked during the election by russians with the intentions of manipulating the election by presenting clinton/democratic party in a bad light. It’s not the job of our intelligence agency to look into this? It’s not their job to worry about this?
Come on, they are not trying to take trump out of his presidency, they are doing serious work to look into how our election was manipulated by illegal hacks, whether russians or whoever it is. It’s really as simple as that.
If the media wants to use the cia to push an agenda, that’s on them, but let’s not act like the cia is trying to get trump out of office. That’s just wrong.
“But cheering for the CIA and its shadowy allies to unilaterally subvert the U.S. election and impose its own policy dictates on the elected president is both warped and self-destructive.”

It was a fair trade, classic smoke-filled, back room deal. We took out Kennedy, they took out Khrushchev. Fresh leaders, fresh start, no nukes.
My dad still swears that the CIA whacked Kennedy.
Of course, it wouldn’t have been believable the other way around. Bullet in the head for Khrushchev, Kennedy pushed out to pasture mid-term with a small apartment and pension.

Even appearance has its limits. When Cambridge got “diverse”, the liberals who could afford it, decamped to Arlington.
3:27 that’s an interesting thought.
I think true liberal/progressive values are humanistic in nature. Designed to enhance the human experience. Focused on the whole human. Shuman the Human.
If love trumps hate. There’s an awful lot of hate out there for Trump.
I like liberals. I don’t like liberal progressives. They are very different.
