Ambassador Kushner

From NJ1015:

Trump wants pardoned NJ real estate developer for US ambassador

President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday he intends to nominate real estate developer Charles Kushner, father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, to serve as ambassador to France.

Trump made the announcement in a Truth Social post, calling Charles Kushner “a tremendous business leader, philanthropist, & dealmaker.”

Kushner is the founder of Kushner Companies, a real estate firm based in Florham Park. Jared Kushner is a former White House senior adviser to Trump who is married to Trump’s eldest daughter, Ivanka.

The elder Kushner was pardoned by Trump in December 2020 after pleading guilty years earlier to tax evasion and making illegal campaign donations.

Kushner served his time in federal prison and paid his debt to society, long before he became a member of the Trump family. Very different than the pardon for the “smartest man I know”.

Is he a good choice as a diplomat? Do we allow former prisoners a second chance at any government jobs? I have no idea, but jobs like diplomats have long been rewards for fealty to the party and the president. It’s not a job based on merit, but one on loyalty.

The Democrats are the ones who crafted most of the second chance act and clean the state laws in the states.

Here’s a quote from Joe Biden this year.

FBOP) – On April 9, 2008, the Second Chance Act was signed into law. Ten years later, in 2017, April was designated as Second Chance Month. President Biden said in his Proclamation of Second Chance Month 2024, “America was founded on the promise of new beginnings.” In the spirit of new beginnings, the Second Chance Act codified into law exactly what it sounds like: a concept that everyone deserves a second chance to make their lives right, even individuals who are, or were, imprisoned.

President Biden when asked about accepting the verdict and pardoning his son said he would accept the verdict and not pardon him if guilty.

This is what a real man does. Donald Trump has whined, cried and screamed about how he is being screwed and that he did nothing illegal. Crying, whining bitch!

OOPS, Democrats believed lying Joe. I thought Joe would have waited until January, but I knew he would do it and the sheep all believed him . LOL.

    “OOPS, Democrats believed lying Joe”

Not sure which group of Dem stooges is worse, the naive dopes that really believed Joe when he lied about not pardoning the crackhead, or the ones that knew he was lying but didn’t care because they felt it helped his re-election chances.

As for the pardon itself, what’s not talked about enough is the extent of it, covering all acts back to 2014. It’s essentially an admission that all of the Biden Crime Family/Ukraine/Influence Peddling corruption is true, and will most certainly be followed by blanket pardons for his brother and other family members. This makes Clinton’s pardon of Marc Rich, a Dem megadonor who was a fugitive of justice at the time, and up to that point the most disgraceful pardon ever, look rather benign. Go Joe!

Guess since you have been gone you have missed the last 5 fatalities on RT 80 in the last couple of weeks.

NJ has no shortage of selfsh pricks. In fact, America breeding them faster than it’s young women produce children.

What “example” of honor or decency has the empire of the USA shown the world lately? Why should it be leading anything? It’s cops outright murder people, it’s last two Presidents are criminals, and like a technologically rich bully it blows people up in foreign countries at will with drones.

South Korea is just another place the problems started by poor American leadership is going to fester. Trump isn’t going to fix this, and neither is the made up daddy in the sky people named “God.”

Sure, it’s like getting your son a job in the local police force. Bet it comes with a nice government pension though. One that many wished they had.

It is still blatant nepotism. America is in a steep decline, with the rate on an increasing downward spiral.

Noone lets you change lanes, merge, etc. People don’t even use blinker when it’s necessary, which is really dangerous and I ran into that twice. Once had to lock the breaks since an idiot made a “Jersey” left turn right in front of me as a light turned green and I did not expect to have to slow down when I was accelerating from a stop. And I haven’t changed. MAGA is going to set our country back decades. Not the Republicans. MAGA. Putting completely unqualified people into cabinet positions and your immediate family into high ranking positions is not draining the swamp. It’s immoral. Not illegal. Just like how the Dems in the swamp act. Only, the MAGA replacements, in nearly every case, have no experience whatsoever. Don’t see any talk of campaign finance reform, term limits, etc. The next group of grifters has replaces the establishment grifters. And now, your rights are being based on the bible instead of the Constitution because it’s the only way Trump was going to obtain the power to keep himself out of jail. Our country is a complete joke. The world laughs at us. I know. I met quite a few Europeans when I was in Florida. They have no idea why MAGA is in power. They were truly envious of what we had the last four years. Whatever.

I see they voted Hakeem Jeffries minority leader of the house and it’s clear that Newsom is the next appointed one. As much as MAGA is a disgrace, the Dems still don’t get it. AOC isn’t going anywhere. She’s the MAGA punching bag. It empowers her. The party ignores her. Rightfully so. Especially after the huge fuckup with Amazon.

How’s Matt Gaetz doing SGC? When half of MAGA and anyone with a pulse saw that appointment, they demanded Trump choose someone else. Trump, as always, chose to go it the dictator way and ignored everyone around him. When the pedophile stepped down, Trump did no wrong. Kind of like how Biden wouldn’t listen to anyone about stepping down. But MAGA can do now wrong. Right? Yes. Extreme right. The double standard remains solidly in place.

You and the other Dem stooges watched the repercussions of your 2020 decision — war in Europe, wars in the middle east, open borders/Venezuelan crime gangs taking over apartment buildings, freeing the world’s most notorious arms dealer, highest inflation in 40 years, SecDef going AWOL, military readiness/recruitment crumbling, topless trannies and coca!ne at the White House, etc, etc — and then voted for more of it! I doubt any T voters are worried about having voted differently than you, Whoopi and all of the other progressive numbskulls.

  62. RentL0rd says:

Would you prefer a recession to inflation that by all standards was the best among the world?

    A brief history-

Forty years ago, when Ronald Reagan finished his first year of office, inflation was at a similarly high rate — 8.9 percent. At the time, Americans were also coping with cost-of-living increases, including groceries rising 4.3 percent (compared to 9.3 percent currently) and gas prices rising 10 percent (more than 30 percent today). On the campaign trail in 1980, Reagan described inflation as “violent as a mugger, as frightening as an armed robber and as deadly as a hit man.” He would spend the first few years of his presidency beating down inflation.

Reagan lowered taxes, reduced government spending, slashed red tape, and the Fed under Paul Volcker tightened the monetary supply through higher interest rates. The harsh measures brought on a short but major recession from 1981 – 1982, which at the time was the worst economic downturn in the United States since the Great Depression

Remember Joe had 30% food inflation, open borders allowing convicts, murders, rapists and tenga terrorists into our country, Joe said he was going to save SS instead he gave thousands a month to every immigrant that came in, along with free clothing, food and shelter, he allowed two wars to start without even trying to stop them, then couldn’t figure out who to support Hamas or Israel, Afghanistan mess, highest housing inflation ever , rents through the roof, told everyone he would not pardon his son, OOPS , just a little white lie and he is not done more Bidens to be protected. If you need more let me know, Trump will improve America but you will never admit it. America has spoken , just listen. Meanwhile, in NYC you have a US Marine charged with manslaughter by Fat Alvin for having been a Good Samaritan and accidentally killed a dangerous lunatic that was threatening passengers in the sewer that is the city’s subway system. With all due respect to your mom, you’d actually have to be a moron to move to a blue state today.

  67. Libturd says:

    BRT,

Our government and our gen pop’s perspective on where our country stands in relation to other places in the world are completely lost. As I was walking through the airport last night around midnight and walked past a gate containing a delayed flight to Santiago, I couldn’t help but notice how well dressed many of the passengers waiting were and how they appeared not to be too upset about their now almost three hour delay. Lord knows, they were probably at the airport long before I even got to PBI being an international flight and all. Now if you ever walk past, say a delayed flight to the Dominican Republic or have had the pleasure to have to wait with Nicas, you want to kill yourself from all of the complaining. I have never been to Chile and didn’t know much more about the country than what I had learned in Spanish classes thirty years ago, but I knew something must be going right down there. So while standing in one of those heated bus shelters for the ABC Parking shuttle to come (we would have sat, but a smelly homeless person had moved into the side of the shelter with the benches), I googled Chile.
“Chile has one of the lowest levels of corruption in Latin America, as well as a strong economy, high standard of living, and low level of poverty. You can drink water from any tap in the country, and it has modern telephone and cell service, high speed internet, and cable television.” I went down the rabbit hole a little further and saw that:

    Economic stability:
Chile has a track record of sound economic policies, leading to consistent growth and a high standard of living compared to other Latin American countries.
    Political stability:
Chile has a long history of democratic governance and is recognized for its stable political system.
    Social progress:
While issues remain, Chile has made significant strides in areas like gender equality, with recent legislation recognizing same-sex marriage.
    International engagement:
Chile actively participates in global forums and is considered a leader on issues like climate change.
However, some areas where Chile might not be considered fully modern include:
    Income inequality:
Despite economic progress, significant gaps remain between the wealthy and the poor.
    Social mobility limitations:
Opportunities for upward social mobility can be restricted by factors like access to quality education.
    Indigenous rights concerns:
Ongoing debates regarding the rights and recognition of indigenous populations.

Just amazing. It sounds like another Costa Rica. If you are well traveled outside of America, you will find that in most places, though you might see more gates and rails on windows and doors, shit just runs better. Nicer airports. Nicer and faster trains. Better cell coverage, much more wind, solar and electric cars. Yet ask the average American and they wouldn’t want to step foot in Chile or even South America. I fear our countries brightest days are in the past. The providing of bread and circuses has been perfected to the point of perfection. We should be marching on Washington to protest both healthcare rights and the corruption that is our Federal government. And yes, that Biden pardon lie was simply gross. Remember when NJ turned on Florio when he promised no new taxes and then raised the state sales tax and even started taxing toilet paper as a luxury product. Instead, today, social media and our so-called news outlets, fill our day with stupid one-off stories (the kind that Phoenix especially enjoys reading about) instead of focusing on the issues that really matter to people. It’s just too easy and the populace has simply become too stupid.

I spent a lot of the past week with my mom who voted MAGA. She is so misinformed from Foxnews it hurts to hear her state what she thinks are facts. She still believes Obama was a Muslim born outside of the country. She is really clueless but heavily influenced by what she sees and reads in Social Media much like our younger generations. She is also a racist. Though thankfully, she does not don sheets and burn crosses.

The best advice I can give anyone younger today is to get out and see the world. While you’re doing it, just say you are from Canada.

    Jim,

“Trump will improve America but you will never admit it.” This is where you are wrong. I want nothing more than for Trump to succeed in improving the lot of America. But you simply don’t do this by regulating women and not businesses. Bibles are not going to improve America unless you are a sex-starved priest looking for more prey. But it’s a man that want’s to be a woman that is really bringing America to it’s knees. Try to think for yourself and not parrot MAGA lies. Maybe one day your kid can pick blueberries in Trump’s great America.

I have never been to Chile and didn’t know much more about the country than what I had learned in Spanish classes thirty years ago, but I knew something must be going right down there.

Yeah I think rooting for failure is something that the GOP has done their best to do every time a Democrat is in office. Truth is some of the GOP folks are batshit crazy and most are from places that are not thriving. If you employed and making money in America you are fine. But there is not much of a safety net for anyone who is alone and struggling. Sure, the top earners in America live in a bubble. But it comes at a high cost and most are taxed way too much until they reach the upper stratosphere of earners where the rates plummet. As far as wanting bad things for the Country, that is simply untrue of anyone paying attention. I find the whole situation fascinating from my little nest out west.

  77. EX says:

I would also add that most of the DEMs have checked out and are ready to disband the DNC and start again. The legacy of leaders like Obama and Clinton is mixed. Biden? who knows. I think whining about the cost of eggs while driving a $100k F150 that get 12 mpg is absurd, but that is where we are now.

  78. chicagofinance says:

Stu: Europeans are so condescending and clueless. Why do you think I take such umbrage with FlabMax? They are eager to critique us as ribald obese cavemen with no manners and bible-thumping sensibilities. In reality, while they would never want to be us, they are irritated by our chronic ability to outachieve them historically, today and forevermore.

Chgo: I have been in Europe extensively this year, as well as many times over the years. This year I can say, I barely heard a peep about Trump, except for Australians I ran into. They said in Australia that the word was there would be a civil war if Trump won, and asked when it would start. As for the Europeans they have a bunch of their own problems. Trump did not seem to register on the list.

  81. Chad Powers says:

    Phoenix,
The Germans can’t fix their compounding problems. The German business model was centered around cheap energy supplied by Russia. That of course is out the window so the economy here has really been screwed the last couple of years and will get worse. You can count on Trump putting pressure to increase defense spending on whoever is running the German government after 23 February (Merz?).

Interestingly the neighbor‘s house we‘re buying is heated by gas. The Notar appointment is this Friday to sign the contract and we‘ll take ownership on 1 January. I‘m going to set up a guest room over there and make the living room into my den. It will be a fun project for 2025 setting up the house how I want it. BTW, yes it is cold and wet here now in Bavaria. Can‘t wait for summer!

  82. Libturd says:

“While they would never want to be us, they are irritated by our chronic ability to outachieve them historically, today and forevermore.”

This is true, especially in the UK where they are still reeling from our Revolutionary War as well as their inability to ward off the Germans without our help in WWII.

3B, I have a close friend in Australia. Hung with him the entire last trip to Vegas. They are very into tabloids over there. My friend pretty much said the same thing you did about his countries perception of Trump. But I think deep down they love Trump’s idiocy. Remember, they are the country that brought us such advances as the Wiggle’s, Crocodile Dundee and the Croc Hunter, Steve Irwin.

  83. Libturd says:

We were in the Balkans in November, lots of history there, and some instability. I think it’s only a matter of time before Bosnia explodes again. It’s a shame , beautiful country, but totally dysfunctional. The people somehow get on with their day to day lives.

  85. 3b says:

Lib: The folks from Australia were nice people, but agreed they are big into tabloids, and have a view of the U.S. mainly from television it seems. Big, big drinkers too. Australia is one country we have zero interest in visiting. A friend of ours just recently came back, he said he enjoyed the natural beauty, people were nice enough, food ain’t great. He said the travel was brutal. It was on his list, they did it, but one and done.

The federal government is wildly dysfunctional and useless. Musk pointed out the other day that there are 462 federal agencies. How many of them are actually needed?

But why does anybody think that Musk and Ramaswamy are the guys who can fix it?

Neither has ever worked in the fed govt- do they have any real understanding of how the govt works, or why there might be that many federal agencies and regulations?

There are plenty of things that need reform, but I suspect that this will turn out the same as Musk’s “rescue pod” (designed and built by Musk’s engineers to rescue those kids trapped in that cave in Thailand a few years ago).

The pod was an impressive piece of engineering, but it was completely useless because there was no way to actually navigate the thing through the tight confines of an underwater cave.

Musk and his engineers are smart guys, but their “solution” failed because they didn’t know anything about underwater caves or cave diving, and didn’t bother to listen to the people (the experienced cave divers on site) who did.

In any event, I can’t wait until the DOGE proposes to end the ethanol mandate, or reduce acricultural subsidies, or to end “cowboy welfare” and start charging ranchers market rates to graze their cows on govt land.

462 agencies. Nobody has any understanding of how it works. But what we do know is, it doesn’t really actually work. You really are worried about all 462 agencies and their crucial function on society.

  94. OC1 says:

You really are worried about all 462 agencies and their crucial function on society.

What’s the right number of agencies?

Saying “there are 462 agencies!” doesn’t really tell me what they do or how (un)necessary they are.

I’d be more impressed with “Agency X does this and we don’t need to do that because….”

  95. RentL0rd says:

The role of most federal agencies is to distribute funds to state agencies that serve various purposes – public health, transportation, bridges, clean water, parks, storms, earthquakes… the list is longer than 500 for sure.

Bear in mind that the red states benefit the most from this, but all states need it.

Now abolish this and it will be total chaos – which is what Trump really wants ( now you should really be asking why? Manchurian candidate?)

Your schools will lay off teachers, colleges will lose funding and far fewer will graduate, a lot more sick population not working, rampant local corruption with no oversight.

It is actually scary. The bravado of Trumptards is not only stupid but also dangerous.

I am hoping the few sane people in the GOP will add sole checks and balances. Otherwise hang on to the yellow metal…

  96. BRT says:

The role of most federal agencies is to distribute funds to state agencies that serve various purposes – public health, transportation, bridges, clean water, parks, storms, earthquakes…

Sounds great, how have these endeavors been doing lately. And colleges? Seriously?

  97. RentL0rd says:

  98. RentL0rd says:
