Zelensky needs to start firing more people, starting with the diplomat that started this fight and the government lawyers who filed a lawsuit with the WTO.

Poland no longer supplying weapons to Ukraine, as Ukrainian oligarchs try to dump their grain on the EU states. FYI Ukrainian grain is the cheapest in the world right now.

Don’t bite the hard that feeds you.

  3. Juice Box says:

Just to expand on the conversation, the grain is piling up in Ukraine, even the new defended grain corridor is not without issues. Russia will keep destroying the Ukrainian grain stores and taking out key people. Last year a Russian missile hit the house of Oleksiy Vadatursky the Ukrainian grain oligarch, killed him and his family. Russia might even sink a grain ship, which would effectively end their exports via ship.

  4. Fast Eddie says:

Pompton Plains in the top 10 at first glance is an interesting one. I need to look into that. And there’s towns like Ho-Ho-Kus at #15 which is curious. Perhaps an apartment over a storefront levels that price point out? Gotta dissect that one, too.

  5. Phoenix says:

Poland better be careful, it may get the financial wrath of the USA should it not toe the line the American government demands.

Keep it up, America just might try regime change there, another favorite American tactic.

    Makin’ friends:

President Joe Biden appeared to wander off the UN stage without shaking hands with Brazil ‘s Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the end of a joint speech, leaving the leader looking visibly irritated.

  8. Phoenix says:

More American tax dollars for non-Americans while REAL Americans are struggling to pay their bills:

President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to meet with President Biden on Thursday in the Ukrainian leader’s third visit to the White House. His packed schedule also includes meetings at Congress and the Pentagon, while Biden seeks approval for an additional $24 billion in aid to Ukraine.

  9. Phoenix says:

    24 Billion.

How many NJ schools could get air conditioning, insulation upgrades, or new windows with 24B?

Or hire more teachers so America could climb the education ladder instead of being something like 25th in the world?

  10. Phoenix says:

Headline from today’s paper. I guess they believe men are stupid, as adding women will make the police force “smarter.” Guess we should do that with the military as well, as they can’t seem to find fighter jets they lose in the state of South Carolina:

Want to fix policing? Hire more female officers.
Police forces are struggling to find recruits. How hiring more women could cure that — and make our police forces smarter.

  11. Phoenix says:

From another paper- so was the snub by Old Goat Biden another one of his “senior moments” or was it intentional?

“While criticizing Russia, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil has also suggested in the past that Ukraine and European allies also share some of the blame for the war. And President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has mocked Mr. Lula as trying to be “original” in his offer to help moderate peace talks.”

J Powell says “Higher for Longer!” Sounds like a campaign speech. Or is that the newest version of pot gummies?

So, one more hike and then a sustained rate through 2026. If the democrats can muster up the will, they’ll cease harvesting votes and ‘let’ a Republican win in 2024 and then go for the clean sweep in 2028 when the shit hits the fan with high UE amid a robust recession.

Fast : Hawkish pause, as they are calling it. Higher rates for longer, or just more normal rates to clean up all the damage of artificially low rates for more than a decade. Of course the younger generations will pay for it.

  17. Phoenix says:

Your house doubled in value, and you have said you made a lot of money. Low interest rate on your mortgage-check. Interest rate on your savings, climbing daily. Your stocks have risen.

So yes Eddie, I think you are much better off than you were before. Visit a financial therapist to talk you through your perception of brokeness, and help cure you of thinking you are in poverty.

  18. Phoenix says:

    Correct.

“Of course the younger generations will pay for it.”

  19. Juice Box says:

The Fed didn’t touch rates and stocks still didn’t like it. Powell basically then said the Fed is in a holding pattern (keeping rates high) until the cows come home. When that will happen is when core CPI hits 2% and he thinks that is another 2 years from now. Core CPI peaked a year ago at 6.6% and has only come down to 4.3%.

How much of the decrease in core CPI is due to fixing of the supply chain issues?

    JB,

Yup. America gradually encircles it’s “enemies” with military bases, weapon systems, etc.

Doing it with Russia, doing it with China. China is surrounded with American military hardware.

I have always wondered if China were to convince Cuba to put missiles there how America would react.

Between the military hardware and the dollar hegemony controlling the world, it should be interesting to see what happens once the prisoners escape their American prisons. Or do they just have to kill their captors.

  21. BRT says:

I would disagree, my bills have all gone up more than my salary. I’m not interested in the zillow estimate of my home as I realistically can’t sell without putting myself in a scenario where I buy somewhere else at elevated prices/interest rates or rent at rates that have also skyrocketed. Anyone that doesn’t own a home obviously feels even worse. And most people in that position probably don’t own much stock anyway. Moreover, the indices might look good, but they are heavily biased towards the mega-caps. A real collapse happened beneath the indices and we watched many stocks fully revert to the mean. A lot of them are sitting there or making new lows.

  22. BRT says:

The US is conditioning the population for war with China the same way they did for Russia. We heard about Russia nonstop for 4 years prior to. A lot of it was fabricated. It’s going to be a sight to see what happens to stores like Target once that pops off. Empty shelves everywhere.

  23. Phoenix says:

Corporations, come to Ukraine, you can profit, we have unlimited funds from working tax paying middle class Americans so you can get rich here. Biden is going to give us even more, we can pay you 100 million per mine, it’s not our money, we didn’t work for it so we don’t care. F the American workers and come get rich here!

“As the most mined country in the world according to its Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ukraine is seeking to develop a business model out of demining by bringing in the profit motive to speed up a process that might otherwise stretch for decades.”

  24. LIBertyTURD says:

    “Cliffwood Beach (Monmouth County) $2,640”

Now that is a surprise. Cliffwood beach was mostly white trash when I was growing up. The beaches are stone there and often polluted thanks to the proximity of the Arthur Kill from Staten Island.

As for am I better off today than 4 years ago? Absolutely. The last time I really suffered was back in 2008. Who was president then?

It’s clear what the marching orders for the Trumpies are. Claim immigration is somehow hurting us and make believe you are worse off today than you were four years ago (even though every single economic indicator would prove differently). Of course, you could argue higher interest rates are more costly for those who abuse credit, but the choice was between that or runaway inflation. Of course, Trump probably would have bullied Powell into the latter.

Personally, I would still take corrupt and unethical Biden over narcissistic and compulsively lying Trump. Though, the entertainment Trump provided in the way of a burning tire fire I do miss.

  25. Chicago says:

When I say ‘we’, I mean ‘we’ as a nation. 10,000 per day streaming across the border causing sanctuary cities to push back, babies now dying of Fentanyl poisoning aside from the junkies and casual users, inflation is high, crime is rampant, Ken and Karen are angrier and more divided than ever, etc., etc. I’m okay financially for now but goods and services have equaled or surpassed those gains I’ve made. So, are we better off now overall than we were four years ago?

  28. Libtownshend says:

    Juice,

From what I’ve been reading, the inflation was a combination of things, but MAINLY due to the stimulus. Just as trickle down doesn’t work. Neither does free money for those living check to check. It overheats the economy and gives producers the green light to raise prices. Sure, limited supply creates greater demand and forces people to pay more, but they could do it due to the stimulus. I am seeing car prices begin to fall, meat prices, even fast food prices beginning to decline. Why? No stimulus. Even Starbucks is discussing cutting prices as they seem to have hit the wall.

As for why the markets down? Powell’s tough talk. Fear not. She’ll keep melting upwards. Have a feelin 24 is gonna be a good year. Especially if you and me see it in together.

They’re isn’t a single area that hasn’t declined under Biden. From athletics, academics, foreign influence, military power, domestic security, public health, all have decline. Many by design.

I’ve also had it with the banana man’s act. Even the most senile idiot out there can find their way of a stage. He’s trying to pretend to be incoherent so he can avoid accountability. He knows exactly what’s happening with open borders, government weaponization, his schemes with Hunter, all of it.

  35. Phoenix says:

    Eddie,

America is not a nation of “we,” it’s a nation of “I.”

Marlboro Man, individualism. “We” is a chimeric construct in a corrupt system.

    Just ask a homeless veteran.

  36. 3b says:

  37. Fast Eddie says:

I was talking to the guy who closes my pool earlier this week and he said they have about 400 clients in Rockland/Bergen/Passaic/Essex Counties. He said a lot of customers are not caring for the pools, not because they didn’t want to but because they don’t have the money for upkeep. He said they’re reaching for these dream houses financially and it’s putting them in a bind. People are living on credit cards… a lot are teetering on the edge.

  38. BananaJoe says:

Our urban centers will never recover from this era. There will be no one to restore order and civility. The cities are finished.

  39. Bystander says:

America is full of whiners. I like my 401k going bonkers, I like my house doubling in value but Biden is the worst bc my coffee creamer doubled in price and my landscaper wants $80 to cut my lawn instead of $40 two years ago. Refuse to see truth about 2020 stimulus and 2021 spending. Businesses want cheap liquidity and low taxes but will throw employees onto the street when they become costly. Rehire them back at 40% less ala Salesforce, I mean Dreamforce. Nice system. And you wonder why people are angry, your home value can drop, your 401K can drop, your salary can drop but consumer prices are not dropping, even if their labor costs and supply costs drop.

  41. The Great Pumpkin says:

    Lib,

Why a melt up? I don’t see it.

And stimulus was not the issue that started this domino. It was supply chains. They could never start raising prices if there was enough products available. Toilet paper anyone? You think people were receiving enough stimulus to drive this all up? The mistake was artificially maintaining same demand through stimulus while factories and the economy was artificially shut down. They f’ed up badly. The source was not enough supplies, and then everyone and their mother in business using the supply chain lie(it didn’t impact every business, but they sure played that hand). Evidence, corporate profits went through the roof on falling sales. That’s your inflation…also the pandemic loans these businesses received. They been living it up. Stock indexes almost at all time highs this summer. There is your inflation…from top down.

  42. ExEx says:

Oh nooooooo. The cities are burning.

  43. The Great Pumpkin says:

You had these rich WFH workers in sf moving to cheap locations. Huge inflationary impact. They had a ton of money now to spend out of nowhere and they drove up costs rapidly in cheap locations.

  44. Libturd says:

“the Fed kept rates too low for too long.”

No argument there. Glad to see the FED doing what’s necessary for now. Though, after so many years of FED silliness, I still clench my teeth every time the chiefs meet.

  45. The Great Pumpkin says:

And you guys supported this wfh crap…when it was a transfer of wealth. These workers became flush with spendable cash. No stimulus or tax break could be more effective at creating inflation.

    Everything has a cost..

  46. Phoenix says:

He said they’re reaching for these dream houses financially and it’s putting them in a bind. People are living on credit cards… a lot are teetering on the edge.

Yeah Eddie, those 600k cape cod houses you keep posting. Grandpa’s old house you hit your head on when you slam it into the side minus the dormer with no insulation in the roof joists.

All while Boomer is on his pension, his Chinese made walker will last as long as he lives, Medicare is paying for all of his free healthcare, and he gets a tax break on his taxes.

Then the old goat gets senile, shoots the guy next door who is trimming his trees because he “thinks” the man is on his “PROPERTY” (say that in a deep voice if you have one).

America is a bizarre place. Social media is really the biggest amplifiers of all. Between BOomer greed and social media, you are going to create some very unusual behaviors by the youth if you haven’t observed it already.

  47. Phoenix says:

  49. BananaJoe says:

Bidenomics is a dud. When inflation outpaces wage growth you’re getting poorer. Common sense.

High house prices are great for some. If you’re leveraged up or a speculator. I would have preferred the prices remained stable.

  50. Bystander says:

    Ed,

How’s the caviar taste in NJ? Guy that closes your pool? I paid someone like $250 for first 5 years. It was worth it to be done in 1 hour. I just finished doing it myself for third year in a row. When guy arrogantly came back with $350 and month wait in 2020, I declined. I don’t even want to know now. Probably $500. I think my brother pays 5K for someone to open, maintain and close his pool. He is Westport though. Can’t do your own stuff there. What would neighbors think?

  51. Juice Box says:

Lib – Let’s just say perhaps 1/2 is stimulus and 1/2 supply chain. Core CPI is down only 2.3% YoY while Core PCE is up. The supply chain is no longer an issue. It’s been mentioned by Jamie Dimon and others the stimulus cash has run out and now credit is way up. We shall see where the consumer leads us.

  52. Libturd says:

“You think people were receiving enough stimulus to drive this all up?”

Absolutely. Especially when you give the paycheck to paycheck crowd money. They spend it hand over foot. Give rich people money and they save it and invest it.

The funny thing about supply lines. If you limit supply, you invite competition as there is greater margin to be obtained. Then there is typically a period of over supply due to the new production coming online which causes prices to drop to clear inventory until an equilibrium is found. Where has this occurred? It hasn’t. Why? Because everyone knows the margin pop was temporary due to the temporary nature of the stimulus. The supply line issues are mostly excuses.

    Banana,

Then go talk your Orange clown about trillions in socialism handed out and bullying Fed for 0 rates. Get a grip. It is trickle down that does not work and both sides comply with what Wall Street wants. It is the easiest path over real policy change. Real policy change means politicians and donors may take a hit. Ain’t happening.

  55. Lib Al Saud Turd says:

    Why is crude so expensive?

Crude goes up based on future demand or limited supply. I’m sure the war with Ukraine, isn’t helping, but if China is sucking wind and the US is on the verge of economic collapse, Crude wouldn’t be at 92.

  56. BananaJoe says:

He was not fiscally conservative. I don’t know anyone who would argue that he was.

  57. Bystander says:

The economy keeps pumping bc it is human nature at work. If I go to Phish show in 2015, I was charged $12 for beer. Unreal. Progressed every year and now $17. Did I stop getting that buzz bc price too high? Nope. Young kids are sucking up higher housing costs..just because they “need” a home and prices will continue to rise. It is a good investment bc boomers say it worked for them. When you see price declines, people will runaway from buying a home until it stops dropping. Human nature.

  58. Phoenix says:

The whole idea behind a “stimulus” is to get money circulating, not for boomer to stock his war chest with isn’t it?

The biggest problem with “paycheck to paycheck” people is their vices. So many have them just like Hunter Biden and his vices, except one is wealthy and its a narcissistic issue, the others have them as they are worn out and don’t give af.

Other than that, put money in the paycheck crowd and you get real stimulus.

    Libturd says:

Absolutely. Especially when you give the paycheck to paycheck crowd money. They spend it hand over foot. Give rich people money and they save it and invest it.

  59. Phoenix says:

You know what makes a home a good “investment”?

Not being at the mercy of a landlord and price increases.

Being able to pay it off and only worry about the taxes.

Fixing what you know needs fixing and doing it when you can afford it.

Having something that needs fixing immediately-and actually having it done correctly.

But now, since the parasite ticks of Wall Street are infesting housing, which is a necessity for life, you are at their mercy. It’s why they infested the lower/middle class housing market and not the wealthy areas ( NYT article).

You need the worker ants scurrying along in order for the queen to be fed.

    Why is crude so expensive?

You have a president who has created almost 20% inflation in less than 3 years, preaches how he is going to put oil companies out of business, closed down oil pipelines , funding billions to Ukraine, and opened our boarders instead of controlling our boarders. Fentanyl is killing our youth, and Biden has put our country in a extremely bad position. Poverty in our country has increased 2 fold since Joe took over. Next he will release another 30% of our strategic oil. He also has put SS 3 years closer to bankruptcy/insolvency….and blames the Republicans???!!!

Trump may have sucked as a person, BUT our country was much better off… inflation was unheard of, now we are getting ready to fall off a cliff. Our debt has gone through the roof.

  62. Libturd says:

Biden is not responsible for Fentanyl. Your drug-addled children are.

Poverty rate? Mostly noise but inflation induced. Far from 2 fold increase, but when did facts matter to the Trumpies?

Strategic oil? Trump wanted to tap the reservoir every chance he could. It’s a joke anyway. A nothingburger (love that term).

Spending? I’ll give you that one, but he’s no worse than Trump was.

Give me something with meat in it. These are all underhand pitches.

  63. Libturd says:

    On the Fentanyl tip.

I’m pretty flexible with my kid drinking, smoking weed, experimenting. It’s why he doesn’t get drunk, smoke weed or experiment. Before he went off to school, I showed him the Fentanyl risks and said, maybe you ought not experiment with drugs since there is a decent chance it will kill you. Of course, if you want to kill yourself, they’ve made it much easier than ever. He gets it. The Fentanyl issue doesn’t bother me.

Wildwood police on Facebook this week said they’ve been closely monitoring small groups on social media who have been trying to plan a repeat of the event.

“The Wildwood Police Department with the assistance of the City of Wildwood Solicitor were able to quickly identify the promoters of these groups and legally advise them to cease and desist their promotion of these unsanctioned events,” police said. “All of these have been removed from the social media platforms as of this press release.”

  71. Fast Eddie says:

Costs me $200 and a six pack to close it. I do everything but blow out the lines, wash out the filter, deal with the plugs and put the cover on it. Figure to rent the blower would probably cost me $50. Not worth the hassle.

  76. Jim says:

Biden is not responsible for Fentanyl. Your drug-addled children are.

WRONG. Biden controls the boarder, he is allowing anybody including all drug dealers, and mules. I know people who have died from Fentanyl. One was a guy in NJ who was hurting from unwanted divorce, went to a bar and patron gave him a pill to relax him…dead next day from Fentanyl. God forbid anything happens to your kid, peer pressure is always present. I NEVER told my kids drugs were ok, but that is how I parent. I live by example and do not need to be high to live and work.

Poverty rate? Mostly noise but inflation induced. Far from 2 fold increase, but when did facts matter to the Trumpies?

Correct inflation induced, THANK YOU JOE ( by the time he is finished inflation for his term will be OVER 20%) Here is a link on the poverty level , read the chart.

Strategic oil? Trump wanted to tap the reservoir every chance he could. It’s a joke anyway. A nothingburger (love that term).

Wrong again Trump wanted to use cheap oil to fill the strategic oil reserve but was blocked by Schumer and his Democratic friends.., how stupid was that? Oil was cheaper than dirt, probably will never ever see that again, all politics nothing else.

Spending? I’ll give you that one, but he’s no worse than Trump was.

By the time this is over Biden will blow Trump spending out of the water, and this is when the government should be cutting back because of inflation. His Green agenda, Inflation reduction act( LOL). and inflation automatic increases( SS) will increase the demise of our country. You may be better off, but not the majority of Americans can say that.

Give me something with meat in it. These are all underhand pitches.

There is meat for you just read it or read some good newspapers, ask your friends and neighbors Lib, the majority of Americans are hurting. Why can’t our government see that. Look at any retail store where 60 and 70 year old people are still working.

Grim, the lead article missing a few things. The first is the number of rentals available in those towns. The sample size is too small. Second is the housing stock pool. Demarest with 8 rentals available has probably COAH minimum affordable housing, It does however have some nice high priced rentals to skew the number for the discerning renter with diplomatic plates on the car that wants a ribbony school for the kids.

Fentanyl (for humans) and Carfentanyl (for Elephants) is also a big user demand problem.

Junkies are junkies, but they make fact based decisions. When AIDS was rampant the heroin junkies started sniffing instead of injecting and to get the same “high” they demanded and got purer heroin. There is actually an active demand for drugs mixed with fentanyl. Because Fentanyl gives you the heroin high without the heroin nodding off plus you have a shallow/medium psychedelic effect, in short “you are tripping good, but not to strong like LSD”.

What kills is Chest Rigidity Syndrome aka Wooden Chest Syndrome. Is a massive spasm of the muscles in the chest not allowing breathing, and if artificial breathing is given is very difficult to push air in. Is reversible with Narcan. In a medical setting if already intubated they are given paralytics and if not intubated Narcan.

The point is there is a big demand for it. Because you get high, not go to sleep and trip balls.

    Libturd.

Your question earlier. Was listening this morning to Bloomberg surveillance and they had a big wig from Apollo. His key points equities out, debt in as we settle into a light/medium stagflationary period. He did not dwell on cause as he was promoting Apollo’s way of doing business.

But is easy to see that is coming because:

-Less workers (add another 500,000 Venenzuelans getting work permits)
-Less cheap China and end of globalization replaced with nationalization (Take a look at the row between Canada and India over the assassination – which is a big no no. India today cancelled Canadians’ Visa. Is Canada going to cancel all Indians’ visa and what will it do to its economy vs nothing to India)
-Oil, oil is a going, going, gone and the Saudi prince wants to build his straight line hundred of miles straight line police state fantasy city in the desert and he needs money for it, along with every oil producing cursed nationed that wants to keep its kleptocracy in place. So they are going to keep oil production down and prices up.

    All of the above inflationary.

    – Outside of tech related development and growth in the economy. The economy has been FIRE financialized since the Greenspans years. The financialization required low/ZIRP rates which were made possible by low inflation rate.

No low inflation, means no low rates and Stagflation until happens that changes the paradigm.

You remove Trump and the need for Biden and the DNC Clinton corporatist machine dissappears and other options with Dems light up. Add other outstanding events/issues and outside of him dropping dead or becoming incapacitated, there is a small possibility that lines up as all of the following:

-Trump found guilty and on way to prison, drops dead or becomes incapacitated.
-Polls show that people don’t want Biden.
-Polls shows other GOP candidates get traction against him.
-Hunter is found guilty and on way to prison -which he can pardon, but loose politically.
-World’s and country’s complex situation, if re-elected he’s a sitting duck where his political power is heavily diluted as other power centers move on, makes staying a barefoot 5 mile walk on burning coals.

Look up the start of snorting heroin vs AIDS. Prior to AIDS street heroin was to diluted to snort and have an effect. Heroin used decreased dramatically in the late 80’s. When it came back it was a “snort” drug, not an injection drug.

Medical fentanyl has the effects that I mentioned. What street users buy and they think is Fentanyl is another matter. Ketamines – aka Special K is used as a cutting agent a lot. Ketamines do make you space out and nod off that is why is used in the anesthesia world. Junkies hated because it is a waste of time, effort and money.

But having said that, you’re wasting your time debating mindless, toxically-feminized dingbats like Ex, Flab, etc; they’ve already admitted that like the 99.9% of teenage girls that they emulate, they’re going to vote for Joe and Carmella again. Juice,

Congratulations, good luck, I hope you get it.

For me its a a lot of frustration. Lots and lots of ghosting and bad offers and BS from recruiters. For the jobs in the field, we want you to do the high level work, but we also want you back low level coding. Lots and lots of Unicorn Jobs.

I have been on some fun interviews. I had one technical interview. 1oam Teams, great chat, 10:30am he has to bail for another call. 12PM, recruiter sends an email, you are through to the next level, then ghost.

Interview with a big company in a certain town just off 78. Great chat with the tech team, the CTO comes on and you can feel the coldness in the call descend. Ten minutes later, unfortunately, Verizon pulled the plug on my Internet as they were working up the street. By the time I got back on audio on the phone they were wrapping up. The funny part is that since then I think I have at least 11 recruitment firms reach out to me saying “You are a perfect match for this job!”. Usually I get one or two matches from firms for the same job, but that one is an outlier. It was just not to be.

I have some traction with the consulting firms like cognizant, looking some of the rare skillsets I have, I’ll see where that goes. I had one of their competitors HR dept. reach out directly for a skillset, last week, we will see where that goes.

I set up a website and a firm and starting to post content to show competency in certain areas. I’ll keep pulling for jobs in the field, but I think I’ll start to pivot to new focus areas.

One big benefit here is the time off. I have really enjoyed the summer, decompressing and spending time with family. I got a good package, so not in a rush to get back. The company I started can hide the resume gap. I believe that things happen for a reason, even in this downtime there have been things I couldn’t address or cover if I was in the last role. I just have to find where life wants me to go next.

Again, good luck with the final two.
