  2. Very Stable Genius says:

It seems that NJ rightwingers don’t actually move to the south. Where’s Kentucky, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi at?

    Lol

  3. leftwing says:

There are no right-wingers in NJ….only centrists that provincial brain dead liberal sycophants see when they feebly peer around their failed bright red blinders, lol.

  4. Fast Eddie says:

    Very Unstable Anus,

So, how’s the trans life working out for you?

  5. MondayRain DontGoAway says:

The thing that gets people from NJ/NYC – even those that identify as full nutty right – that move to deep red parts of the country is loneliness and inability to create new social circles.

So unless you are anti-social or very self contained socially in your own world and have sources of income and do not have to depend, except in a routine transactional bases, at all with the locals you are going to have a bad time because of culture shock. Yes, they are slower, dumber, violent and overall backwards.

In short, if you move there, you got to drink the kool aid, and immerse yourself and even if you do you’ll still be considered a yankee carpet bagger. Have seen more than a few people that went, did not stay long and moved again to more purple areas.

BTW – Highly recommend “Best of Enemies” in MAX. Is a documentary about Gore Vidal/William F Buckley debates in ABC during the 1968 GOP & Dem convention. Those political fighters in here will love it.

  6. Old realtor says:

The upcoming presidential election cycle will be the biggest circus of all time. Republicans can’t come up with anyone to beat Trump and campaign and trials going on parallel to each other should result in epic insanity. Forget about democracy and governance, just embrace the insanity.

  7. BananaJoe says:

Nobody said Alabama or Mississippi were top destinations. But loads are going to South Carolina, TN etc. so much so that I’m skeptical of this methodology.

And the us World Cup soccer is the poster child for woke. Not competitive. Full of self absorbed half wits. They virtue signaled the entire time so I’m sure they consider it a success.

  8. Fast Eddie says:

    BananaJoe,

I understand the U.S. team is taking a knee in protest of their loss.

  9. BananaJoe says:

The left doesn’t debate anymore. They hide behind the propaganda and censorship . From covid accountability, gender and s3xuality predation, environmental issues, crt the list goes on and on.

Desantis wanted to debate Kamala about history curriculum, she said no, would rather behind lies and the echo chamber. Try to get anyone prominent to defend covid policy or gender dysphoria, ain’t happening. Would rather riot.

  10. BananaJoe says:

I guarantee the Marxists are smiling. It’s all by design. And happening all across the board.

  11. The Great Pumpkin says:

Look at indexes. Flight to safety happening over past days to dow.

  12. leftwing says:

“Yes, they are slower, dumber, violent and overall backwards.”

Just, wow….because the fat assed scrapple eaters who think American Dream is the pinnacle of civilization and embarrassingly cram into $1m shitboxes on an eighth of an acre define culture. LOL.

“The left doesn’t debate anymore. They hide behind the propaganda and censorship…”

Trump’s lawyer that did the Sunday morning talk show rounds is epic. Shut down that little twit Todd hard…he refused to be shouted down and held Todd to count for his broad, over reaching dogmatic left assertions. Love that guy, need to bookmark him lol.

  13. ExEx says:

It’s amusing to watch the imbecile class try and “reason” their way around all of this.

  14. Chi in SD says:

Left wing: Chuck Todd is still on? I thought they canned him because of low ratings? Or was that just the rumor?

  15. leftwing says:

Don’t know, but he was pretty well bitch slapped yesterday morning…surprised such an articulate, reasoned lawyer signed on for DJT…must be getting paid in advance lol

  16. Juice Box says:

Does NYC really believ they are going to raise $1 billion a year with these new congestion taxes? Is there really a million cars traveling below 60th st every week day?

  17. Old realtor says:

Todd asked poor questions and didn’t know or understand the law. It was quite a poor performance. Trying to portray the encounter into Trump’s lawyer being articulate and reasoned because he made Todd look like an idiot is being very generous. Todd looked like an idiot because he is one.

  18. ExEx says:

Leftwing seems to have lost the plot completely.

  19. leftwing says:

“Todd looked like an idiot because he is one.”

    LOL, no argument here.

“Leftwing seems to have lost the plot completely.”

You and I pulled up stakes and GTFO…difference is I went to a rational place and you went to the land that promotes and values Kamala and the Dem-bot. Although from prior posts IIRC even you may be looking to get somewhere away from the actual devastating effects of the blue idiocy policies.

  20. ExEx says:

You are cherry picking what you want to hear. That simple.

  21. ExEx says:

This “place” has been amazing for my girls. (Wife & daughter)
Me? I could live almost anywhere. But why would I want to?

I’ve seen flyover country up close and have zero desire to share space
with retarded, drunken gun nuts with a desire to meet Jesus.

  22. ExEx says:

Oh, and Sinead was right all along.

  23. Chi in SD says:

ExEx: I am at a conference and also a hotel in SD. There is no bottled water anywhere. I can buy a Dasani but it is so unusual that it seems intentional. Is it frowned on or something?

I realized I was so dehydrated after a few days because all I was drinking was scotch, black coffee and diet cokes.

  24. Phoenix says:

Looks like boomers don’t like each other much. Wives saying their husbands want a “nurse with a purse” are ditching their men when they stop producing cash.

I guess you can still monkey branch into your seventies these days:

    https://www.wbtv.com/2023/08/06/more-older-adults-are-living-alone-gray-divorces-surge/

  25. Phoenix says:

Dasani is made by Coke isn’t it?

Someone has made a deal there. So why not just drink Dasani, or tap water?

  26. leftwing says:

“You are cherry picking what you want to hear. That simple.”

LOL, says the guy driving a truck load of fruit!

I have no argument with you Ex…except the practice of your theoretical politics produce horrendous results…as I’ve said and offered before, mark a few simple lines on the continental US map that draw themselves and you stay in your shithole and I’ll stay in mine and we’ll both be happy!

Peaceful coexistence. What could be better?

We’ll cane and jail people who violate others’ property rights while you can house, feed, and provide them illicit Rx for free. You mind your business and we’ll mind ours. Deal?

  27. ExEx says:

11:30 I still count many people as close friends in the Bluegrass State. it’d be nice place to retire too one day. Cheap and scenic with the old friends around. Some are dying though. Even in their fifties I am seeing this. The broad and may I say somewhat “slanted” Brush that you are drawing with doesn’t really cover it all. For example, in my part of California it is much more conservative than any “LA area” scenes you might envision. It’s more like Mayberry here in Ventura Co. The difference is that we have a sizable Hispanic population. NIMBY’ism still thrives though! Never fear.

  28. Phoenix says:

Trump wanted thousands of troops on the streets of Washington and other cities, and he had repeatedly urged top military and law enforcement officials to confront protesters with force. “That’s how you’re supposed to handle these people,” Trump reportedly said. “Crack their skulls!”

  29. The Great Pumpkin says:

*Tyson Foods sales hit by plummeting demand, to shut four more US chicken plants, stock down 9% $TSN

  30. Libturd says:

“Look at indexes. Flight to safety happening over past days to dow.”

I told you that was next. And when the fund managers get back from their vacations at the end of August, we gonna rally till Christmas.

Inflation don’t matter much when your nest egg keeps doubling every three to four years. Those without a million saved (the 90%)? Fuck you! There’s still plenty of space on your credit cards (at 24% interest). And you can always refinance out at 8 or 9% to infinity.

  31. Bystander says:

    “Dexter, Missouri and Noel, Missouri”

Sounds like Tyson not getting prices it wants in MO or perhaps some unfriendly legislation. This can’t be by coincidence.

  32. No One says:

    Re WFBuckley vs Gore Vidal,
I lost all respect for WFB when I saw the hatchet job Atlas Shrugged review he published in National Review. He would re-run it and refer back to it now and then to remind people that Conservatism isn’t about reason. Eventually the religious conservative beliefs he championed to crowd out the small l libertarians in the Republican party came back to bite the National Review, as the Trumpers decided they didn’t need any old-fashioned half-way-intellectuals polluting the anti-intellectuality of the new Trump Republican party.

As for Vidal, I’ve never enjoyed what few things I’ve read from him, as his view of the world and humanity is wrong, distorted, and perverted. Maybe the only thing in common Vidal had in common with WFB was their dislike of rational philosophy.

  33. Libturd says:

Chicken is impossibly cheap right now.

You can often get dark meat for under $1 a pound and breasts for around $2. My guess is when food inflation originally took off, excess capacity was put in place to make up for the shortages. Now they are returning to normal. Hormel goes through this with pig meat all of the time.

  34. ExEx says:

Chicken (and Fish) are insanely healthy to eat. Every heart doc I know suggests it if at possible. I even dig the Chicken Cheese steak hoagie.

Lib, try as I might I cannot wrap my brain around a $60k Mazda.

  35. ExEx says:

Lefty, I love ya buddy, but you know one thing as far as I am concerned. All of this talk of freedom and you have the red states still outlawing a plant that grows wild in the woods since time immemorial . Makes no sense to me. Tossing people in jail willy nilly doesn’t smell of freedom to me.

  36. Libturd says:

Lib, try as I might I cannot wrap my brain around a $60k Mazda. Neither can anyone apparently, since they are not selling well. The truth is, you get a car with the tech and power of an $80 to $90K Acura, Lexus, or Volvo. My car is more powerful, more tech filled and they went overboard with the leather and wood. Plus it’s faster than all of them. So if you want to spend and extra 20-30K on a hood ornament? More power to you.

Oh, Mazda is also more reliable and cheaper to repair. Enjoy your MDX. Truth is, it looks like a top of the line Escalade inside.

Forgot to mention. Mine gets 28 MPG highway since it is partial hybrid.

  37. No One says:

$60k Mazdas look perfect sitting in front of a $1m PoS split-level in NJ.

  38. BRT says:

At this point, maybe I’ll go back to an 88 Mustang and rebuild.

  39. ExEx says:

I hear ya man. It’s just evidence of an insane car market where prices have gone parabolic. You are brand loyal. My grandad hd one of the first Mazdas ever to hit the shores. It burned oil like a demon. It was cute as hell though. Years later I have an 88 Convertible rx7. Motor would stutter with the air conditioner on.

  40. BRT says:

My go to for various chicken dishes are the leg quarters. I’ve seen them as low as 59 cents per pound.

  41. Libturd says:

One last thing. The car senses who is driving it and has over 600 different presets that can be set to each of the unlimited number of drivers. Heck, it even remembers what radio station was playing and your presets. What settings the AC was on. Even goes back to the last song you were playing in your Youtube Music library. You press the Start button and that’s it. You need not take out your phone or your key to fiddle with anything. A solid third of the features are expensive options on those others. Before you knock it, you should check it out. And the color I got is nicer than anything anyone else offers on anything. It’s like candy apple red, but with a darker seductive shadow. I never cared too much about a car’s color, but the first time I saw a Miata in it in 2019, I knew it would be the color of the next Gator mobile. I’m sure you’ve seen it already. It’s fire, says my son’s friends.

When I took the car off the lot, half the salesmen said it was the prettiest car they ever sold. I got the black mud flaps, so it looked even cooler. I already quartz shielded the white leather too.

    Just look at her.

    https://www.walser.com/inventory/new-2024-mazda-cx-90-3-3-turbo-s-premium-plus-awd-sport-utility-jm3kkehc1r1107488/

Closest comparison would be a Lexus GX, but they handle like shit, cost more, look like the exterior was designed in 1995 (like the Toyota Highlander), but could be even more reliable. I hate the giant grill though. It looks like a cow catcher from a steam train.

  42. Libturd says:

    BRT,

Leg quarters are the bomb. The thigh meat stays super moist since it’s shielded by the bone and who doesn’t like to go caveman eating a drumstick. Breasts are good for dicing and slicing into a salad or filleted into a parm or other Italian recipe. But they are impossible to grill well and are simply too dry even when marinated.

I don’t even sauce my quarters. Black pepper, sea salt, garlic powder and then offset cooked for 75 minutes around 325 on the grill. You don’t even need to flip them and the skin crisps up like a pork rind. You can sauce them at the end, but I find it unnecessary and unhealthy. Plus, no mess of the grill grates to clean.

Did I tell you how nice my car is?

  43. Fast Eddie says:

You can often get dark meat for under $1 a pound and breasts for around $2.

    41st Street and 11th Avenue? ;-)

  44. Fast Eddie says:

I don’t even sauce my quarters.

You don’t know what you’re missing. Lol.

  45. ExEx says:

Lib, it’s really quite nice. Those photos are great. Made in Japan?

  46. ExEx says:

2:53 Show me on the doll where the Priest touched you….

  47. The Great Pumpkin says:

    Lib,

Wow, can’t believe mazda stepped it up! Even the paint color is premium…sick color! Good luck!

  48. Libturd says:

Yes, but not their Nagasaki plant, where their most reliable cars are typically made. I’m definitely a guinea pig here and Mazda is definitely trying to enter the luxury market. I’m thinking any of their cars that end in a zero will be their high enders. For now, that their CX 30, 60 and 90. They’ve always been really clear with their model numbers. The 2, 3, and 6 for entry level, midsize and then full size sedan. The CXs were all either crossovers or SUVs and went CX 5, 7 and 9 and a 4 in Europe.

Pretty straight-forward and then there’s the Miata MX5 and the old RX-7. That’s it.

  49. Libturd says:

    Thanks Pumps.

But you all are right. No one is crazy enough to spend that kind of dough on a Mazda. If these keep selling poorly, it may behoove some of you guys to consider it. Especially their PHEV, which is selling a bit better.

By the way, finding one in that color was nearly impossible. I jumped on the only one for sale within 200 miles and still was able to get 3% below sticker which is not bad considering that three months ago they were going for 5 to 6% above. Also got lifetime oil changes and a guarantee that all loaners would not be below a CX-9 (in case of first year recalls). Negotiations were not bad since they weren’t selling, I had no trade and I paid cash. Again, the finance manager did not even try to sell me the warranty. Maybe it’s because I go in a ratty old undershirt and gym shorts. :P

  50. Libturd says:

    Tech people.

Apple doesn’t pull back that often. If this recent drop has legs, you may be able to get in before their new iPhones are released and I’m guessing this one will be upgrade worthy after last year’s joke resulting in a rapid return on a low risk name.

  51. BRT says:

I just drop them into cast iron skillets and bake skin side up. Salt, olive oil. Once they are done baking, that chicken I use as a base for any quick chicken dish. The bones get saved for stock.

  52. leftwing says:

“All of this talk of freedom and you have the red states still outlawing…”

    Never mentioned freedom, just preferences….

I agree with you, I am pro-cannabis and abortion rights. Those two ‘freedoms’ on balance for me do not outweigh the huge other negative actions, much more important to me, of Blue States…

Similarly, you would appear to agree otherwise, granting others certain ‘freedoms’ that impinge your quality of life for other beliefs more important to you…

    The preponderance of personal preferences.

No polity anywhere of any size could fulfill all the preferences or desired ‘freedoms’ of all its citizens….fool’s errand.

  53. Bystander says:

    41st Street and 11th Avenue? ;-)

Classic Ed. 300 lbs of love will cost ya.

  54. The Great Pumpkin says:

    Fun.

    “Peter Lombardo
We left NJ in 2017 and went to FL as well. Unfortunately FL is getting over developed on both it’s coasts, so if you don’t mind a drive to the beaches than I suggest find a home more inland. We choose North Fort Myers and the development in just 6yrs has been horrendous to the traffic conditions and over crowdedness everywhere. As with other areas, No One wants to work so businesses and customer service are a nightmare when you venture out to shop or want a meal.
FYI, stay away from the Orlando/Disney area, that worse.”

  55. The Great Pumpkin says:

America going to chit with overdevelopment without well thought out pre-planning by developers and the politicians they buy out.

  56. Libturd says:

Go look at Los Angeles Pumps. An unplanned nightmare of rapid sprawl that resembles Mexico City in many places. And much of it was planned.

As for the rights thing Lefty. It’s all wedge issues that often most on both sides don’t even want. Are statues of General Lee really that important to anyone? On the other side, the vast majority of blue staters know we need to get a handle on the number of illegals entering our country undocumented. You see this same thing repeated over and over with lots of low hanging fruit.

At the end of the day, we all want to live in a safe place, with the highest standard of living and have a good job.

  57. No One says:

I remember my first and only ride in a Mazda RX7. It was 1982 and my hot blonde 6th grade teacher drove me to the county spelling bee in her red RX7.

  58. The Great Pumpkin says:

    Lib,

It’s criminal how hard working people put up with this poor planning (aka money grab). Never fails. They come in, overbuild, take their profits, and leave the little guy with the mess. How are these people not in jail?

Come on, a condo collapses in Florida and no one goes to jail? Criminal.

Meanwhile people getting locked up for smoking pot there. GTFOH.

  59. Libturd says:

    No One,

I bet the headlights weren’t the only thing that popped up.

Chi, try to keep that drink from shooting out your nose now, won’t ya please?

  60. Fast Eddie says:

    2:58 pm:

When did you first discover you were suffering from gender dysphoria?

  61. ExEx says:

4:06 LA is a place that is clearly “less” than most people would like.
It’s an Industry Town and that industry has vast inequities and a terrible track record
for exploitation and bad optics. The city itself is a collection of pockets and neighborhoods. There are a few gems there. Outside of town Pasadena is nice.

You will pay top dollar to live there so in many places I think the place skews “old”.
Lots of long time residents who retire in place. I really like my area. We’ve got amazing air here, no homeless encampments, and some good schools.

This weekend is cruised my little M3 down the Malibu, had a nice breakfast, saw Michael Madsen and then took Decker Canyon road back to T.O. Decker is an epic canyon road with no stoplights, very few guard rails, and lots of great switchbacks.

  62. Libturd says:

Don’t get me wrong Ex. I love LA. It’s just a planning mess. Drive the 15 or so mile length of Santa Monica Blvd. starting at the beach and you will witness undulating patterns of wealth, poor and working class neighborhoods all right next to each other repeating over and over right to downtown. And this was a modern planned city. Heck, Los Angeles wasn’t barely on the map a hundred years ago.

I do miss my Winchell’s Apple Fritter.

  63. ExEx says:

    Love Winchells!

  64. leftwing says:

“At the end of the day, we all want to live in a safe place, with the highest standard of living and have a good job.”

It’s the journey, not the destination….

  65. Juice Box says:

Ex – re: “ still outlawing a plant that grows wild in the woods since time immemorial”

Many many plants like this. I don’t need to spell it out you a still have not fried your brain completely.

BTW – when is the last time you took a sabbatical from weed anyway? Every heavy pot smoker I ever knew could not kick it for even a month, but then they all claim it is not addictive or well in whatever reality they have fashioned for themselves.

  66. ExEx says:

I’m smoking a lot less TBH. Thanks.

  67. The Great Pumpkin says:

Hedge fund billionaire Dan Loeb has said: ‘Fundamental analysis is increasingly taking a back seat to monitoring daily option expiries and Reddit message boards’

  68. Juice Box says:

Pumps – re: ” daily option expiries”

Lobe et all look for easy marks on the blogs and tweets etc. They laugh about it.

  69. ExEx says:

I was under a ton of stress recently and I turned toward an ol vice. Ciggies. Wanted to cut my intake but still have room for the satisfying taste of tobacco.

They make you feel like shit, but damn. Blame Don Draper!

  70. JuIce Box says:

Ex – I smoked too when it was cool. It ain’t anymore, and I don”t miss it for a second. Find another outlet, we have all been there and I know you will find a way.

  71. Libturd says:

    I suggest krokodil.

  72. The Great Pumpkin says:

I don’t know why you guys give Ex a hard time about smoking weed. Yes, everyone is different, but for most people, smoking weed is nothing. It’s hard to even feel anything from it. Now take some shots of alcohol and tell me you don’t feel something…

  73. The Great Pumpkin says:

Now if you watch the old propaganda on weed…you would think smoking it really messes you up. Then you try it, and realize it was all bs stereotypes meant to scare you.

Weed makes you stupid….meanwhile rodney dangerfield smoked every single day. Bet you didn’t know that. Most athletes smoke weed, doesn’t seem to be holding them back…michael phelps anyone? Telling me michael phelps was lazy and dumb? Well, he smoked weed. You can go on and and on…

For god’s sake, cheech and chong still making money off of those old stereotypes. Yea, they are some dumb lazy dudes that are still working at this age.

  74. ExEx says:

Weed is pretty benign. Stupid? Naw. Just sedate.

    Now nicotine, that’s a drug!!

  75. The Great Pumpkin says:

    Ex,

It really is. It’s a nothing burger for the most part.

Now, when you mix it with heavy drinking, that’s another story. That’s when some people get stupid.

  76. The Great Pumpkin says:

I don’t smoke cigs, but when I first tried it….instant head change. My body couldn’t handle it. I was like 16. And cigs are just like weed when it comes to drinking….cigs enhance the drunk feeling. That’s why so many alcoholics smoke cigs. Coke heads too…love cigs because it is enhances their high for some reason.

  77. The Great Pumpkin says:

Agreed as a fellow optimist. How they don’t see a recession coming is beyond me. Been down this road before, doubt it’s any different. You killed the real estate market…it’s going to kill the economy. No if’s, and’s, or but’s ….

    “Cracks deepening, no question.

If you’ve followed me, you know I’m not a doomsayer or here to be negative

I’m an optimist, but here to tell it like I see it, in real time, since day one.

Lenders call the shots when it comes to real estate, and they have taken a huge step back.”

  78. The Great Pumpkin says:

Think I nailed it on this. Was a discussion on 100k income.

“It’s all relative. You play in the sandbox with billionaires, all of a sudden 500 million is chit. You play in the sandbox of avg men, and 500 million is their f’ing dream.”

  79. The Great Pumpkin says:

Apartment buildings, long considered a real-estate haven, are emerging as the next major trouble spot in the beleaguered commercial-property world.
Investors bid up the prices of multifamily buildings for years, attracted by steadily rising rents and the prospect of outsize returns. Many took on too much debt, expecting they could raise rents fast enough to pay it down.
Unlike office buildings and malls, which have been hit hard by remote work and e-commerce, rental apartments have low vacancy rates. The apartment sector’s main problem isn’t a lack of demand—rents have soared since 2020—it is interest rates.
The sudden surge in debt costs last year now threatens to wipe out many multifamily owners across the country. Apartment-building values fell 14% for the year ended in June after rising 25% the previous year, according to data company CoStar. That drop is roughly the same as the fall in office values.

  80. The Great Pumpkin says:

Raise the rates they said! We need more! Meanwhile, real estate which the main driver of our economy, is taking a bat the head. Holy chit is this FUBAR! Soft landing?!! Are you insane….

  81. Phoenix says:
